The church/cemetery car park in Quet-en-Beaumont (le Bas) easily accommodates five to seven vehicles.
(S/E) The walk begins by going round the church on the left, then immediately turning right onto the road towards Corps for just over 600 m until you reach a sharp left-hand bend. Then take the path on your right which winds down towards Corps.
(1) At this junction, head down about 100 metres to your right for a return trip to the bridge over the Sézia.
(1) Back at the junction, climb the path on the right and, after a right-hand bend, descend until you reach a wider track.
(2) Take this track to your right; it soon becomes a path running alongside the Sézia and leads to a clearing converted into a picnic area.
In addition to the leisure facilities, this clearing is home to the remains of the old Pirou Mill, just a stone’s throw from the Sézia. Take the opportunity to walk around it and read the information on the visitor information boards.
Leave this area by continuing along the path between the old mill and the Sézia. Further on, cross a tributary of the Sézia, the Ruisseau de Claret Anglot, via a metal footbridge. Continue on your way to the next junction.
(3) Ignore the path leading uphill to the left and head right towards the hamlet of Pâques, just over a kilometre away. You’ll reach it via this winding path up to the road leading to the hamlet.
(4) Take this road via the ascending section on your left, go round the first hairpin bend to the left and cross the hamlet of Pâques to the next hairpin bend to the right. Then leave the road via the track on your left, towards Quet-en-Beaumont, and walk for about 200 m.
(5) At the end of this track, take the (barely visible) path on your left leading downhill to reach the directions for Champines and Versannes.
(6) Continue in the same direction, ignoring the path on your left. After a mix of uphill and downhill sections and after crossing the Ruisseau de Claret Anglot via a wooden footbridge, you’ll reach a wide, descending track at a place called Les Anglots.
(7) Take this track on your left.
(8) After 200 m, you can visit an old winegrowers’ shelter, situated slightly below: feel free to explore; you’ll discover tools from the period – do make sure you don’t miss it.
After this themed stop, continue along the track in the same direction. You will pass through old vineyards, Les Vignes du Clos. You will then rejoin the route you took on the way out.
(2) Leave the track and take the path on your right. You’ll reach the junction leading to the bridge you visited at the start of the walk.
(1) Then take the winding climb on your right and join the road, then the car park by the church/cemetery (S/E).
