The Mountain of Parves

Parves and a few other villages are nestled between the old Rhône and the canal (actually the canalised Rhône): you could say that this area forms an island. The suggested walk takes place at low altitude through woods, forests, agricultural landscapes, villages and hamlets that have preserved or enhanced the typical buildings of the Bugey region. There is also a beautiful view of the Savoyard foothills.
Loop around the Armaille and Arborias lakes via Corne-Bœuf

An all-season looping route in the Bugey region, starting from Colomieu. Taking in the Furans and Gland basins, it is a pleasant walk with its marshes and lakes, and an original one with its passage through the Roche Percée de Corne-Bœuf. Beware of water levels, which can vary considerably.

In high water, the route can be slippery but it is impressive.

On very clear days, there are views of the snow-capped Alps and the villages of Marchand and Cerin. 19/09/2023 Message from the moderator: the section between (2) and (3) is very steep and slippery on the way up and requires a good level of fitness for around 500 m. Some sections between (8) and (9) are also slippery on the way down. This route should be attempted in dry weather. Not recommended for young children.

Loop starting from Grésin

This loop starting from the village of Grésin allows you to discover the site where the Italian engineer Galetti installed his harp antenna.

The route is dotted with shells, of course, but also with stone and metal crosses.
