Suggested departure point from Ceyzérieu, which can be reached from Chazey-Bons, Artemare or Lavours. From the village, head towards Aignoz and park immediately in the large car park above the cemetery.
(S/E) Descend towards Aignoz, going around the cemetery on the right and then following the small road that crosses the first marshes. In Aignoz, continue on to discover the hamlet until you reach the Maison du Marais.
(1) Continue straight on along the Route du Marais, which descends to cross the Séran via an old bridge.
(2) The nature reserve trail starts just after the bridge on the right. It heads eastwards to a crossroads.
(3) Turn right to walk along the marsh to the viewpoint on the pond side.
(4) Retrace your steps and head north to the wet meadow viewpoint.
(5) Return and turn west to visit the wildlife observatory and then the Étang Tendret. The boardwalk then takes you back to the junction where the circular began.
(3) Return to the bridge over the Séran and then to the Maison du Marais
(1) Visit the Maison if you didn't do so on the way there and exit at its north-west corner to take Rue du Grand Champ northwards. It becomes a path then a trail as it approaches the Séran, which you follow along the right bank, with some pretty views and a change of direction to the south-west until you reach a new bend in the Séran.
(6) Leave the Séran flowing northwards and walk along a cultivated field to the south, at the end of which you turn right to join the Route de Culoz, heading north-west, often through tall grass, which you take on the left for 100 m.
Be careful, as there is relatively heavy traffic!
(7) After leaving the road towards Talissieu, turn right onto the road (Montée des Courbettes - PL diversion sign) and immediately turn right onto the small road that climbs westwards.
Leave the houses at En Crattier on your right and continue straight ahead along a path that gradually climbs the Courbettes hill to its plateau, at a crossroads at an altitude of 308 m.
(8) Turn left and follow the track until you reach the junction where the road becomes tarmac.
(9) Turn left to descend this small road which crosses the hamlet of Croulet, cuts across Rue des Écoles to cross the village at Bourbillon, then cuts across Rue de Culoz to reach the car park where you started (S/E).
