Park near the church in Jongieux.
(S/E) With your back to the church, turn left, then take the C2 road on the left and left again onto the C6, Route de Marestel. Follow this road to the end of the vineyards.
(1) Take a path on the right, then left at the hairpin bend. Walk along the vineyards and cross a small rocky outcrop. Then follow the signs eastwards and keep right at the crossroads. You will reach another signpost indicating the direction of Le Plat.
(2) Turn left in this direction and follow the path straight ahead until you reach the D210 in the hamlet of Crémon. Turn left and head for thefirst house on the right.
(3) Immediately afterwards, take the unmarked path on the right and follow it straight ahead, following the valley, until you reach the Croix d'Hiver.
(4) Take the path furthest to the left, then ignore a path on the left and continue to the next fork.
(5) Turn left and continue downhill to the bottom of Chemin des Creux in the hamlet of Vétrier.
(6) Turn left, pass in front of the livestock building and, at the rubbish bins, take the road that climbs to the left towards Vignoble (Impasse des Celliers). Continue for a few metres and you will find a path on the right at the corner of a house (Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle).
(7) Follow it generally southwards until you reach a road in the hamlet of Montagnin.
(8) Continue a few metres to the left, then first turn right then left and cross the hamlet. At the D210, turn left and you will soon find a path on the right and, on the left, the entrance to a house.
(9) Continue along this path, continue along the tarmac road to the hamlet of Les Puthods and reach the end of Chemin des Greffiers (car park on the right).
(10) Turn left at the three-way junction, keep right and arrive at the fountain/wash house in the hamlet of Vraisin.
(11) Take the path on the right and turn left at the next crossroads. Continue between the vineyards on the main path, then continue straight ahead on the tarmac road. Walk alongside Château de La Mar and continue to the church in Jongieux (S/E).
a beautiful hike in this autumn season. At point 1, we continued along the route to change things up a bit and took the alternative route that leads to point 384. It's a very good path that shortens the route by about 500 metres. No matter, the rest was perfect, and we didn't see anyone else on the trail. Thanks to the trailblazer.
