Departure from Chanaz: park on Route du Canal near the post office.
(S/E) Head south along the road next to the post office, turn left onto Montée du Fort and then quickly right onto Rue du Moulin. At the hairpin bend, leave the road and take the path opposite.
Return to the road, continue left and reach the crossroads with Route des Petites Vignes.
(1) Turn left and enter Praille. Cross the D210 and continue straight ahead into the Puy housing estate.
(2) Take the grassy path on the left, signposted to Pierre Noire.
(3) Leave the route temporarily to go right towards the Pierre Noire cross and admire the view. Retrace your steps and continue the route to the right towards Le Couloir.
(4) At the first intersection, take the path on the left.
(5) In a right-hand bend, leave the path and continue on a trail heading north-east.
Climb over a low stone wall and veer slightly to the left. This path leads to the Chemin de Pomey.
(6) Take Chemin de Pomey on the right and continue to Sindon.
(7) At the crossroads, follow the road to the right and keep right at the next three intersections.
(8) After going around the Marais de Bange, take the shortcuts on the right that cut across the bends in the road. At the junction with the D210, go straight ahead, cross Le Bouchet, and follow the red and white markings forthe GR®9and 65 (Way of St James). Continue on the right to return to the junction with the Route des Petites Vignes. Before Praille, turn left onto a path that passes near the water treatment plant.
(1) Cross over, turning left onto Rue du Colombier. Climb the stairs on the right to reach Route des Chênes, then turn left. Next, take a right turn, then another left and a final right to reach Montée du Fort. Turn right and head for the car park (S/E).
