Reach Conzieu, on the Gland, either from Lhuis via Ambléon, or from Glandieu via Saint-Bois. In the village, take Rue des Lacs, after the bridge over the Gland, turn right until you reach the junction with a gravel road that branches off to the right. Park near the junction without obstructing the passage.
(S/E) Take the gravel road westwards, which crosses meadows and ends at the foot of the mountain at a crossroads.
(1) Take theGR® 59 (red and white markings) opposite, which climbs steadily in wide hairpin bends on either side of a recent power line. The end of the climb becomes rockier with the beautiful "Roman Staircase" of Conzieu, steps carved directly into the rock, before reaching the ridge at the last pole of the power line.
(2) Take theGR® marked trail on the right, which climbs along the long ridge in a north-westerly direction from Montagne de Tentanet to its summit, alternating between steep sections and flat passages.
The route is generally wooded, with a few short detours to the right or left leading to viewpoints.
(3) Between the geodetic signal at the summit and a stone platform a few dozen metres to the north-west, a path leads to the right to a viewpoint to the east.
Then descend westwards to the crossroads at 990 m.
(4) Take the forest path to the south-west marked "Point de vue du Tentanet" to the viewpoint overlooking the Prés Froids.
(5) The marked trail veers to the right and then descends into the forest to join the forest track coming from La Chèvre.
(6) Follow this track to the left, descending in wide hairpin bends on the western slope until you reach a stony forest road, then turn left.
(7) At the next junction, ignore the marked trail to the right towards Saint-Martin and Lhuis and continue straight ahead. After a pass, the track descends into Combe Gobier then turns left towards Le Cellier.
At an altitude of around 700m, an old sunken path branches off along the Combe Gobier: you can take this to vary from the somewhat monotonous road, but it also veers to the left and returns to the newer road, which eventually covers it with its rubble. So take the gravel road again until you reach the junction with the road leading down to Champ Rouge.
(8) Continue straight ahead in the Combe until the next junction.
(9) Leave the main forest road towards the right bank of the depression and take a wide, level path on the left that stays on the left bank of the depression, which is covered with a few meadows, then a marsh and then Lac de Crotel, which is not very visible. Continue to the junction signposted Grange de l'Orme.
(10) Shortly before the crossroads, a path branches off to the left for a quick climb up to the ridge.
(2) Descend the eastern slope via the Roman staircase and return via the path taken on the way up to the starting point (S/E).
