Alrance walks

The Peyrebrune Tower is accessible on foot or by car from several villages. Pilgrimages take place regularly from these different starting points. Here, the departure point is from the village of Alrance.

A beautiful hike starting from Ayssènes in the little-known Tarn region, culminating at the Notre-Dame-du-Désert chapel. Beautiful panoramic views of the Gorges du Tarn and the Lévézou hills. Despite numerous shaded sections, avoid doing this hike in the heat of the day or in wet weather due to the significant elevation gain.

Nestled in the Céor valley, a true paradise for fishermen, the village of Salmiech enjoyed a successful revival during the Salt Road era.

A short hike offering a superb view of Lake Pareloup, one of the largest artificial lakes in France.

This route alternates between climbs (sometimes steep...), descents (just as steep...!), narrow paths and tracks, and a bit of road too. You pass through steep-sided valleys and very pretty hilltop villages, and most of the time you walk along a balcony-like path above the Tarn, a river with emerald-green waters (well, almost...).

Perched on a rocky promontory, at the confluence of the Tarn and Alrance rivers, the magnificent small village of Brousse-le-Château is noted for its exceptional location.

A route that takes you to the wooded, shaded depths of the Viaur valley. The elevation gain is quite significant, but the heritage sites along the way are well worth the effort!

Beautiful views over the Tarn valley and charming villages: Lincou, Connac, Lavabre. The last three kilometres are a very pleasant stroll along the Tarn. Beautiful stone crosses all along the route. Yellow markings on certain sections of the path.

A very pleasant stroll, there and back along the banks of the River Tarn, connecting two charming villages: Lincou and Brousse-le-Château. The latter is listed among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".

A walk to enjoy on your own or with the family. Lots of tree-lined paths, some of which are narrow. Starting from the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Ceignac, the route follows small streams before becoming circular and returning to the start, passing in front of the oratory.
