The Massebaque stream

Car park opposite the village hall, near the town hall.

(S/E) With your back to the village hall, take the street on the left; cross the Cône (a tributary of the Giffou), cross the square, heading towards the Notre-Dame gate.

(1) Turn left before the gate, follow the Ruisseau de Bertrand (a tributary of the Cône) on the left bank. Opposite a wooden footbridge, climb the steps on the right and continue up the grassy slope. Turn left onto a street lined by the church. Above the church, turn right.

(2) Turn left immediately onto Route du Roc, which leads to La Borie. Continue straight on for 1.6 km along the Route de Garrissous.

(3) Continue to the right along a farm track. Turn right onto a descending track, then left a few metres further on, onto another descending track. Cross the Massebaque stream (a tributary of the Cône), and climb up onto the plateau, skirting the meadow on the left. Take the farm track on the right.

(4) Continue to the right along the descending road for 700 m, until you reach the 600-metre mark.

(5) Turn right onto the track (beautiful views of the farmland around La Selve). At a bend (605-metre mark), continue along the track leading down to the left. Cross the Massebaque stream and follow the track leading uphill to the left.

(6) Turn left onto Route de Garrissous. At the junction with Route de Massebaque, head up to the right towards the church and return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(2) Turn left onto Rue des Templiers to go round the church on the left, then continue straight ahead along Rue Notre-Dame. Go through the Notre-Dame gate and return to the original fork in the road.

(1) Retrace your steps in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).
