A lovely hike in the Black Forest near Waldkirch, 30 km north-east of Freiburg (Freiburg im Breisgau) and 40 km north of Titisee.You can admire the countryside and woodland scenery from the top of the Kandel at an altitude of 1,241 metres, a popular spot for motorcyclists and paragliders.You’ll pass by a rockfall, Kandel Rock, where 2,000 m³ of rock collapsed in 1981.

In Simonswald and its tranquil side valleys, where crystal-clear mountain streams murmur, six old mills clatter away. The mill trail connects the mills in a beautiful hike.

A particular highlight is the nearby Schauinsland, which rises to a height of 1,284 metres.

Freiburg's local mountain is a legendary route that makes the hearts of racing cyclists beat faster.

The Hauenstein rock offers a magnificent view (Schöne Aussicht) of the southern and eastern parts of the Black Forest. This route follows part of the Schwarzwald West Weg and passes through beautiful forests above Niederwasser.

This walk allows you to explore this popular tourist spot near the city of Freiburg im Breisgau and to enjoy the panoramic views of the Black Forest, the Rhine plain stretching as far as the Vosges, and towards the Jura and the Alps on a clear day. The route alternates between wooded areas, stubble fields and pastures, villages, and isolated farms or inns, including a lovely forest path in the final section.

The return route, the ‘Jakobusweg’, follows the Rotbach stream past several sawmills and mills, and the magnificent viaduct over which the Höllental train passes.A varied outing full of contrasts!

A beautiful hike starting from Haslach that takes you to the Sacred Well and Chapel, the Urenkopf and the Devil's Pulpit rocks. Very pleasant in warm weather as it is mostly shaded but offers some beautiful views.

This circular walk starts from Breitnau where you can enjoy local products (glass art shop, cuckoo clocks, etc.) and heritage. Then, enjoy the walk along the gorges where you will find watermills via Hinterzarten village.

The 8 km circular trail was inaugurated in 2013 and leads to the most beautiful vantage points in St. Ulrich.It also offers an insight into the mountainous landscape, characterised by scattered farmsteads, with an impressive alternation of wide open grasslands and multi-layered forests. Furthermore, there are various places to stop for refreshments and rest areas along the trail. The St. Ulrich Circular Trail actually begins in the village centre at the signpost “St. Ulrich Rössle” (571 m). However, we join the route at the Berglusthaus and return here as well.

The marked circular hiking trail (yellow diamond) runs alongside the St. Ulrich Circular Trail (yellow diamond and town coat of arms) from the Berglusthaus in a south-westerly direction through a charming meadow landscape, offering magnificent views of Geiersnest and the Upper Rhine Plain. Along the way, terraced steps and stone walls at the edge of the forest can be seen, indicating former agricultural use.It is also worth taking a look back at the beautifully situated Berglusthaus and the impressive landscape around the Hohbühl. Further downhill, the route alternates between woodland and grassland. From a crossroads at the edge of the forest, we enjoy another view of the meadows and scattered farmsteads of Geiersnest, before the stony path winds its way into the dense forest.

A very lovely walk leading to the highest peak in the Black Forest. You’ll pass close to the beautiful glacial lake, the Feldsee. Half of the walk (the first and last quarters) is through woodland, but the rest is very open, offering magnificent views across the entire mountain range. For those who’d like to split the walk into two, it’s easy to find accommodation in the Feldberg ski resort, which is roughly halfway along the route.

Cross beautiful pastures leading to the Gerstenhalm Pass and then on to Eduardshöhe for remarkable views of Horben before a short stop at the Giesshübel inn and its panoramic terrace. Return to St Ulrich, first along the ridges with views of the Belchen, then through the forest via the Kohlerhof inn.

Starting from Hinterzarten, this hiking route offers beautiful views. The trail first winds through pine and beech forests, in a peaceful and shady atmosphere, before reaching the shores of Lake Titisee. The circular route takes you around the lake, alternating between wooded passages and paved paths, with opportunities to take a break by the water's edge and enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

A lovely circular route around the small village of Bollschweil, alternating between wide forest tracks and narrow paths. At times you’ll be walking through sheltered woodland, at others enjoying sweeping views along meadow paths.

A very pretty hike in the Black Forest, 50 km north-east of Freiburg (Freiburg im Breisgau) and 60 km north of Lake Titisee. You can admire the countryside and forest scenery, as well as the town of Hausach with its castle and beautiful traditional houses.

Walking around Lake Titisee prolongs the serenity it exudes.

This fifth stage will take you from Titisee to Feldberg Passöhe. The route follows the Westweg Schwartzwald. In the evening, you will stop at Feldberg Passhöhe, which, at 1,231 metres above sea level, is the second highest mountain pass in Germany.
