A magnificent hike that alternates between shaded forest sections, a balcony trail and a mountain lake.

A magnificent circular if you don't have fog like we did.
From Les Arcs to the Mont Pourri Refuge via the Lakes Trail
The first stage of a 4-day circuit around Mont Pourri. In the heart of the Vanoise National Park, this stage sets off from a very modern ski resort and ends at the foot of the glaciers in a wild, unspoilt landscape. Breathtaking views of Bellecôte (north face), the Aliet and its magnificent debris cone, as well as the Grande Motte and the Plan de la Plagne valley.
Lac des Moutons via Arcabulle
Departure from the Arcs 2000 resort.
The actual elevation gain is 208 m thanks to the chairlift ascent (364 m).
Les Eucherts - La Traversette
A short, easy walk with magnificent panoramic views of the Haute-Tarentaise, Mont Pourri, Col du Petit Saint-Bernard, Mont Blanc and much more.
The Lakes Trail and Aiguille Grive from Les Arcs 2000
Hike starting from Les Arcs 2000. As this is a resort hike, there are unfortunately some man-made features, but I suggest the most unspoilt route possible. The first section follows a beautiful path (the ‘Sentier des Lacs’) to Lac des Moutons. Then there is a short but steep climb to Aiguille Grive (2,733m) and its magnificent view of Mont Blanc before heading back down.
La Louie Blanche via Lac du Retour
One of the most beautiful walks in La Rosière, a route that alternates between balcony-style paths and steep climbs, offering 360° views at an altitude of over 2,500 metres, with Lac du Retour as your reward.
The Bellacomba Lakes
Certainly one of the most beautiful hikes in Haute-Tarentaise! A long but very beautiful route passing through the still wild valley of the Louïe Blanche, a short detour into Italy to the magnificent Bellacomba Lakes and the return via the Col du Tachuy and Lac du Petit, all dominated by the Pointes des Assaly with a breathtaking view of the Ruitor, Mont Pourri and the Aosta Valley side of the Mont Blanc massif.
Le Lac du Retour
Une très belle randonnée dans le vallon sauvage de la Louïe Blanche, avec comme objectif le Lac du Retour, miroir du Mont Pourri.
Circular loop around Lac Noir from Pierre Giret
A varied hike through the Petit and Mercuel valleys to a rather secluded lake in the Alpes Grées.
No particular difficulties on this circular route of just over 12 km, ideal for spending a lovely day in the mountains away from the crowds.
The blueberry trail in Montvalezan
The perfect family walk, enjoying the cool of the forest along a superb balcony path overlooking the Tarentaise Valley and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.As you emerge from the forest, you’ll be walking amongst blueberries.
Le Monal via Chenal d'en bas
Le Monal is one of the most beautiful examples of mountain pastures in the Tarentaise. Facing the Mont Pourri glaciers, this hike offers magnificent, colourful landscapes in every season.
Lac du Clou and Lacs Verdet via Le Monal
In autumn, around the hamlet of Monal, the larch trees set the valley ablaze, while on the opposite slope, the Mont Pourri glaciers sparkle in the sun. Higher up, it is the Balmes glaciers that steal the show.
This hike to the lakes is a feast for the eyes.
