Petit-Mars Marshes Route, short version
This variation on the “Route des Marais” walk in Petit-Mars takes in both wide farm tracks and a few tarmac sections, most of which are lined with beautiful hedgerows or majestic trees. You’ll take a short detour to the Port de la Rivière, perhaps reflect at the Grotte de Lourdes, and rest at the Étang du Tertre Rouge.
Banks of the Erdre and Mazerolles Plain
Walk in the north of Sucé-sur-Erdre between the Mazerolles plain, forest paths, farmland and the old railway line from Nantes to Châteaubriant
Gentle walk in Nort-sur-Erdre
This walk is flat and allows you to follow the Erdre river before climbing back up from L'Isle along the Ruisseau de Montagné. This route is very natural, except for the section through the town centre (where we pass over a milestone on the Way of St James).
La Chauminette route
Set off to explore the Touchois bocage and its small sunken lanes. As soon as you set off, enjoy the 360° panorama from the Mont Juillet site. Its orientation table will help you to interpret the landscape around you.
Then set off to explore the surrounding countryside.
As you wander along the paths, you may come across an old building, a manor house, a calvary, a well or even a bread oven, each of which bears witness to a bygone era...
Blanche Noë Marshes Route
Set off to explore the Blanche Noë Marshes and the Nantes-Brest Canal.
The Erdre River, described by FrançoisI as "the most beautiful river in France", boasts a rich and diverse ecosystem. As you explore the marshes, you may spot one of the 140 species of birds listed in the vicinity of this river, which is classified as a Natura 2000 site.
Vive Eve route
Set off to explore the "Nortais" bocage, between the canal and sunken lanes.
Along the way, discover the "La Tindière" lock, guest rooms and gourmet terrace.
Along the Stream-Brest canal, you will find a covered picnic table along the towpath. Boating is available from March to October, allowing you to watch the pleasure boats.
Over hill and dale from Sucé-sur-Erdre railway station
Starting from the centre of the village of Sucé-sur-Erdre, this walk immerses you in the heart of the countryside from the very first few hundred metres. You’ll discover the hamlets of the Sucé countryside, alternating between footpaths and small tarmac roads, before returning to your starting point.
Languin Mines route
The village of Languin still bears traces of the old coal mines, which remained in operation until the early 20th century.
The route will take you along the banks of the "Rigole Alimentaire" (food canal), past the mine director's residence and its 300-year-old Lebanese cedar tree. From the village, you will enjoy a remarkable view of the surrounding countryside, which rises to an altitude of 55 metres.
Pas d'Héric lock circuit
Set off to explore the Stream-Brest Canal, its "Rigole Alimentaire" and the surrounding countryside.
Le Cellier via the lava flows and castles
A very pleasant hike on a varied, well-shaded route, which will take you past lava flows, two castles and Île Neuve. As a main course, there are a few nice climbs to enjoy.
From Carquefou to La Haluchère along the Erdre
A very pleasant walk between the centre of Carquefou and La Haluchère, with a return journey by bus. Head down towards the Erdre in Carquefou, from the church car park via the Allée de la Renaudière, then follow the Erdre on the right-hand side as far as the Pont de la Jonelière. You then head back up to La Haluchère, alongside the tram line.

The Mills Route from Grandchamps-des-Fontaines
You’ll be strolling through the beautiful countryside of Grandchamps-des-Fontaines on a very interesting route made up of numerous paths, the most pleasant of which are in the second half of the walk.
The slopes of Vieux Couffé
35 km from Nantes, a nature-filled route on the banks of the River Hâvre, far off the beaten track. Best undertaken outside the hunting season. This walk is accessible between 15 April and 1 November* only.
* The Pont Noyer footbridge is removed from 1 November to 15 April (approximate dates) due to low water levels in the Hâvre.
Le Cellier from La Cale de Clermont
A lovely walk around Le Cellier, starting at La Cale de Clermont, at the foot of Château Clermont (which once belonged to Louis de Funès), then crossing the village before joining the Chemin des Coulées, through the woodland alongside streams.
Route des étangs at Grandchamp-des-Fontaines
A pleasant countryside walk offering views of a lake and several ponds.
The Loire and its market garden valley seen from the heights of Mauves-sur-Loire.
Enjoy the beautiful views and landscapes without moderation on this route, where climbs, terraced paths, promontories above the Loire and descents near the river are not measured in terms of travel time, but in terms of appreciation of these admirable places.
Circuit along the banks of the Erdre in Carquefou
This beautiful walk begins with a visit to Chantrerie Park and its remarkable trees. A short detour behind some more or less heavily built-up areas will take you to Étang Hervé and then Port Breton. The return journey will then take you along the Erdre.
Walk through La Chapelle-sur-Erdre to the Rupt
This walk allows you to discover, over the course of a few kilometres, green corridors, the meadows of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre and, above all, the Étang du Rupt, which offers a truly beautiful landscape. You can follow the course of the Rupt upstream along a steep path through the woods for a real change of scenery.
Valley, vineyards and views at La Varenne
From the church, a quick descent to Les Boires, follow the valley, then a quick climb through the vineyards to return via the valley and head up to La Varenne.

Vallée du Hâvre between Oudon and Haut Vieux Couffé
You don’t like tarmac. You enjoy having the shade when the sun is beating down, walking through wooded areas and following the course of a river. A few ups and downs don’t put you off. Then this beautiful walk along the Hâvre Valley, starting from Oudon, is sure to please you.
Please note: at (7), the Pont Noyer footbridge is removed from1 November to 15 April, depending on the river’s low-water level.
Oudon-Ancenis circular route along the banks of the Loire
A superb walk, with no difficulty other than the length, almost entirely along the water’s edge. Starting from Oudon, passing through Champtoceaux, crossing at the Ancenis bridge, picnic and return to Oudon. Follow theGR®3on the south bank and theGR®3Eon the north bank; red and white markings are clearly visible.
Of the 22 km, around 5 km is on country roads on the Ancenis-Oudon section. The rest is on paths or trails.
Oudon route via La Pilardière and the Hâvre valley
This is a very pretty route in the Oudonnaise countryside, featuring the Pilardière communal estate and the Hâvre valley. The route consists almost entirely of paths and trails, with very little tarmac. It is accessible in all weathers, except along the banks of the Hâvre during periods of high water. Many sections are tree-lined, making it particularly pleasant in hot weather. Depending on the season, you may be able to admire magnificent carpets of cyclamen at the foot of the trees on the Pilardière estate.
Vineyards and châteaux in La Varenne, Orée-d’Anjou
The route winds through the vineyards and offers lovely views of the surrounding private châteaux.
Gesvres Valley Route from Treillières
This is a pleasant hike, mostly along beautiful shaded paths. With beautiful views, abundant flora and a few spots suitable for picnics, you won't be disappointed!
A short walk along the paths of Treillières and La Paquelais
This hike allows you to discover the valleys and hills around Treillières and La Paquelais. Along the way, you can admire some beautifully renovated old houses, enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the rolling countryside and even walk along part of an old railway line.
Tour of Lake Vioreau
This small 2 km² lake between Nantes and Châteaubriant will delight you with the beauty of the site and all the activities on offer: hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, sailing, etc. The walking tour takes you along some very pleasant paths.
Circular loop around La Chapelle-sur-Erdre
A long walk between two green valleys on the outskirts of Nantes, taking in castles, ponds and woods.
Greenery between Treillières and La Chapelle-sur-Erdre
Starting from Les Closes du Verger, you will discover a beautiful green area nestled between Treillières and La Chapelle-sur-Erdre. Through fields and forest paths, this is a lovely way to discover nature on the outskirts of Nantes.

Étang de la Provostière and Rigole des Ajeaux starting from Riaillé
A very shady route with little road (approximately 1 km) that takes you around the entire Étang de la Provostière, classified as a sensitive natural area, and follows the Rigole des Ajeaux, which feeds the Étang de Vioreau a few kilometres to the west.Note: avoid venturing around the lake during periods of high water. The path may be difficult to navigate.
The ‘Orée des Bois’ route in Riaillé
A fairly easy walk taking you through a variety of landscapes, ranging from vast pastures and cultivated fields to a stretch through a beautiful forest. Lots of lovely paths, just a tiny bit of road – perfect for stretching your legs.
Les Hauts d'Orvault
Hike starting from Orvault church, passing through Le Loret, Château de la Tour, Le Petit Aunay, La Retardière and Beau Soleil.
Route from La Berrière to Barbechat
This fully signposted route runs between the banks of the Divatte, vineyards and hedgerows in the commune of Barbechat. It mainly follows unpaved paths and offers wide-open views of the landscape.
In terms of built heritage, the main point of interest is the Château de la Berrière.
The route starts from the car park at the Perthuis Churin leisure centre, which can be reached by following the signs for Landemont on the D207 from the village.
A walk through Bois Raguenet, Le Loret, the Cens and the Cholière pond
This is a lovely walk that allows you to discover very different aspects of the village of Orvault. After a quick visit to Bois Raguenet and its magnificent park, you’ll take a stroll through the countryside leading to the Château du Loret. Although it’s barely visible as you pass by, it will come into view once you reach the pond of the same name. Next, as you pass through the village of Orvault, you’ll be able to admire a huge wayside cross and a beautiful church. Finally, the route through the Cens valley will take you to the lovely Cholière pond.

An urban and rural walk that passes through neighbourhoods that are very different from one another and ends with a climb along the Cens.

A lovely walk that takes you through the Bois Raguenet park with its splendid trees, on a pleasant country stroll to the Château de la Tour, and back along the Cens Valley.
The four parks in Saint-Herblain
A walk taking you from park to park, largely following the course of the Chézine, a small, capricious river that can pose a challenge to walkers wearing unsuitable footwear. It will introduce you to the new housing estates and, above all, to the superb and pleasant footpaths created by the municipality of Saint-Herblain. Well done!
