Park in the Vallée car park on Rue de la Vallée in the village of Oudon.
(S/E) Head towards the Oudon tower. Take the footbridge at the port, then turn immediately right, following the yellow signposts for the Route de la Vallée du Hâvre. Go under the road bridge and you’ll soon come to another footbridge.
(1) Do not cross it. Stay on the right bank of the Hâvre and continue along the path.
(2) Go under the D723 bridge to reach a bend in the river; the signposting ends here.
(3) Leave the signposted route by turning left. Follow the river for ashort while, then leave it and head up to the far left via a hairpin bend. Take a steep path through the woodland to reach the hamlet of La Sauvagère.
(4) Take the small tarmac road on the right leading to La Lhorie, then turn right after the small green bus shelter. At the house numbered 301, turn onto the small road on your left, which soon becomes a stony track. Take the path on the right marked in yellow. Join the A11 motorway (Nantes–Angers).
(5) Go through the tunnel to reach the other side. Continue along the grassy path that runs close to La Gruère. Then take the stony path on your right, which turns into a dirt track and leads through the woodland.
(6) Continue to the right along the Loge aux Moines route, marked in yellow, which passes through private property.
Please note: this route is closed during the hunting season from 15 September to 28 February on Sundays and public holidays. It passes through woodland. Head towards Pont Noyer and cross the footbridge.
(7) Turn right, then, a few dozen metres further on, left onto the hairpin bend, then right onto the grassy path that climbs. Halfway up the slope, turn left onto the path marked with yellow arrows, then immediately left onto the path that climbs over rocks lying close to the ground. You walk through fields and heathland. You reach the hamlet of Haut Vieux Couffé.
(8) At thefirst junction, turn left, following the yellow arrow. Continue straight ahead along the dead-end track. Take the grassy path after the last house. At the junction of two paths, take the one on the left which descends steeply to reach the Hâvre once again. Follow its left bank and you will soon come to a bend at the entrance to the Coteaux du Vieux Couffé.
(9) Continue along this left bank to return to the vicinity of Pont Noyer.
(7) Go straight on, then follow the yellow signposting to the right and take the small sunken path, which initially climbs to overlook the A11 motorway. Head towards the tunnel that takes you underneath it.
(10) Take the tunnel and continue along the path running parallel to the motorway. After several hundred metres, the path moves away from the noise of the motorway and reaches a junction at a place called La Bimboire.
(11) Then take the stony path opposite, which descends and then climbs back up to a tarmac road. There, turn immediately right onto the dead-end track to reach a crossroads of paths near the ruined Château de Vieille Cour.
(12) Turn left onto the path overlooking the Hâvre. Make your way to its left bank.
(13) Follow the river again, turning left. Follow the yellow signposts, passing under the D273 once more. You will arrive very close to the Tour d’Oudon, at the end of the path, and take the footbridge overlooking the Hâvre to return to the initial junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Turn left and go under the road bridge. Then take a second footbridge on the left, which is the one at the start of the route. Next, go up one concrete staircase and down another to reach the Vallée car park (S/E).
. You have to turn back, which is a shame.
