Set off from the car park below Saint Pierre Church in Carquefou. Check that you’re not in a blue zone at that time and, if so, park elsewhere.
(S) Take Rue Leonard de Vinci down towards the Erdre and, at the Fleuriaye roundabout, continue along Allée des Renaudières as far as the music school.
(1) From there, the path is marked in red and yellow. The markings are in very good condition and very easy to follow. This is theGRP® Pays Nantais trail. Enter the courtyard of the music school – this is the former Domaine des Renaudières – cross the courtyard and head straight out again. Walk down to the banks of the Erdre.
(2) Once you reach the banks of the Erdre, you can take a short detour to Port Jean by following the river upstream on your right. Alternatively (or afterwards), follow the course of the Erdre downstream on your left, towards Nantes, and enjoy the view of Port Breton. Follow the markings along the banks of the Erdre.
(3) Walk past the Vieux Gachet restaurant. Continue along the banks of the Erdre.
(4) Walk past the Château de la Chantrerie. You can take a stroll through the grounds if you like. Continue along the banks of the Erdre.
(5) Just before you go under the motorway bridge, take a short detour to Port La Blanche on the right; go to the end of the cul-de-sac and come back – the village on the banks of the Erdre is lovely.
(5) On your return, cross the road carefully to rejoin the path that passes under the motorway bridge. Continue to the entrance to the Parc de la Roseraie.
(6) You can visit the park. Walk through the park and exit.
(7) At the fork, walk alongside the exhibition centre. Pass under the Pont de la Beaujoire (ring road).
(8) Just before the Pont de la Jonelière (tram), turn left onto the path that goes uphill and runs alongside the tram tracks as far as La Haluchère (E).
