Laives walks

This hike will take you past numerous wash houses and fountains as you walk through pleasant woodland in hot weather, returning via the Chemin des Moines. If you love beautiful stonework and buildings, you're in for a treat. After the hike, you can enjoy the lakes of Laives or visit La Ferté Abbey.

Circular forest loop in the Tournugeois region, on either side of a discreet little valley connecting the hamlets of Corlay to the village of Montceaux-Ragny. Halfway along, you can temporarily leave your hiking boots and accessories behind to show off your talents: singing, dancing, reciting, etc. You will find a stage and bleachers in the middle of nature.

This La Chapelle-Hauterive-Messey-La Chapelle circular route follows the Grosne valley along the right bank from La Chapelle to Hauterive, then the left bank from Hauterive to Messey, before returning to La Chapelle via the mill.

A very pleasant, easy walk through the beautiful villages and forests of the Tournugeois region.

Discover Brancion, a small medieval village with a trip to "paradise".

This walk will take you from Royer to Brancion via the Chemin des Moines, at the heart of the Romanesque route linking the abbeys of Tournus and Cluny. Perched on a rocky outcrop, the village of Brancion has been inhabited for 3,000 years. Brancion welcomes you and invites you to discover an idyllic medieval world: a fortified gate, a keep overlooking the village and the Romanesque church, exceptional views and leisurely strolls through a completely pedestrianised area. Nestled in lush greenery, the castle is a place where time seems to have stood still.

Tour of the medieval village of Brancion: Romanesque church and Crusaders’ tombs, covered market hall, feudal castle. Visit the village of Martailly-les-Brancion with its wash house, the source of the Natouze and its fountain, which you reach via the Sentier des Moines (GR®76A).

Simandre, on the banks of the Saône and close to Cuisery, is a lively village with many shops. Its Romanesque church and lava stone roof are listed in the Bâtiments de France inventory. You can observe the flora and fauna at the various ponds along the route.

A pleasant hike of around 20 kilometres with no particular difficulties, this hike can be done in the opposite direction to that indicated.

A peaceful and relatively shaded route between vineyards and forest to discover, in the heart of nature, the surprising Crainseny Viaduct that spans the entire valley. The Gorges de la Mouille, near Culles-les-Roches, offer a charming passage without being too dizzying.

A hilly hike south of the Côte Chalonnaise, where calcareous grasslands have not entirely given way to vineyards. Although the forest is never far away, the walk offers unobstructed views for most of the route.

Best enjoyed from autumn through to spring; perhaps best avoided under the hot summer sun. Several beautiful landscapes. Very little tarmac. There may be muddy patches in very wet weather. Best done in a circular direction to avoid muddy paths on the descent.

An undulating route in the heart of a landscape typical of the Côte Chalonnaise. Enjoy discovering a few sheltered passages off the beaten track and treating yourself to a succession of pretty views, including a perspective of the old town of Buxy.

A peaceful crossing of the Plateau de Saint-Désert in the vicinity of Mont Avril and Mont Brogny. In the distance, the perched hamlet of Cruchaud stands guard to the South, before the route offers an escape to the Plaine de Saône.

To the west of Cormatin, in the heart of the Ban Sacré, this walk may occasionally involve getting your feet wet during heavy rain, but above all it offers the chance to discover some of the most beautiful Cluniac sites.

This route will take you to the top of the Givry hill, the forest planted with Austrian pines, cedars and deciduous trees, and the limestone grassland classified as a Natura 2000 site. Along the way, you will discover the charming hamlet of Russilly, nestled in a valley overlooking the vineyards. This walk offers multiple views of the Côte Chalonnaise and the Saône plain.

This undulating route around Mont Brogny is not difficult and offers unobstructed views throughout. The hamlet of Le Lys, nestled beneath a small rocky outcrop, seems to be there just to surprise hikers at the edge of the woods.

Continuing to discover the Saône-et-Loire region through this wine-growing village and its many small wash-houses. The trail ends at Mont Avril, with its panoramic view over the whole valley. I advise you to do this trail in autumn to get the most out of it.

This is a hilly hike offering some clear views from one side of the Orbize to the other in the heart of the Châtel-Moron forest. The route sometimes climbs a little to vary the landscape, but it is not particularly difficult and remains sufficiently shaded to be enjoyable in the summer months.
