Description of the walk

From the village, head towards the hamlet of Le Molard via Route des Crozes and then Route du Molard. Continue along Route de la Cabane and then Route du Muguet as far as the car park by the pond. A sign indicating the various "Balades Vertes" trails in the commune marks the starting point of the walk.

(S/E) Start opposite the pond, on Route du Muguet. Cross the crossroads and take the gravel path, Chemin du Champ Cornette, just opposite. Continue for 400 m and turn right onto the1st gravel path. Continue until you reach the next tarmac road. You are now in the middle of cultivated fields. Cross the crossroads and continue along the Chemin des Chevenelles for 500 m until you come to the1st track on the right.

(1) Turn onto this, on the bend, between a cultivated field and a small copse. Continue for 900 m until you come to a field and a stone track running across it. Turn left towards the trees.

(2) Follow the gravel path for 550 m along a wood to the tarmac road. Turn left onto Route du Moulin du Roy.

(3) Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads onto Route du Tonkin. The old Fontaine d'Alnau, now abandoned, is in the communal wood on the right, just before two ponds, one on each side of the road. Turn around at the ponds and retrace your steps to the crossroads.

(3) At the crossroads, turn left onto Chemin du Moulin du Roy. Pass the Moulin du Roy pond on your right and the Moulin du Roi on your left. Go straight on for 40 m, then bear right into the woods. Continue until you come out of the wood.

(4) Turn right and continue through the undergrowth to the tarmac road.

(5) Turn right onto this Route de Chardenet and continue until you reach the1st gravel path on your left. Turn onto this and go around the small copse after the power lines.

(6) Turn right and continue on the track which passes between cultivated fields and meadows until you reach the tarmac road.

(7) Turn right onto the Route du Muguet and return to the starting point (S/E).

Joint start with another signposted trail, SI4, the Moulin du Roy circuit. There is a small car park and a picnic table. Trainers or light hiking shoes are sufficient. This trail is signposted (SI5) with yellow paint.

Worth a visit

The trail passes through a number of woods, undergrowth and cultivated fields. A number of ponds and waterholes are ideal for observing the flora and fauna. There are few dwellings along the route. This walking trail can be complemented by the municipality's other signposted green walks (SI1, SI2, SI3 and SI4) or the interpretation trail on heather moorland.

A pleasant walk in the warm winter sunshine.
The description is sometimes helpful (when signposts are missing) but sometimes confusing.
We couldn't find the Alnau fountain and the mill is not very visible.
But the overall picture is quite satisfactory.
