Park near the town hall of Bissey-sous-Cruchaud
(S/E) Turn left as you leave the car park and follow Rue Émiland Gauthey towards the cemetery. Pass the church and then keep left onto Rue de la Ramalle. Keep left again at the central reservation and you will reach the first vineyard at the edge of the village. Immediately leave the road by taking a path on the left that crosses the ditch and follow a grassy lane along the fence. Turn right at the end of the lane, then left when you reach the road. You will soon find a path on the right at the corner of the Château de Rougeon.
(1) Turn right along the building and stay on the path, which quickly descends into the vineyard before climbing up the other side and crossing a wood. Continue south until you reach the Route de Cruchaud a little further on.
(2) Turn left and quickly take the first path on the right between the vineyards and hedges. After 50 metres, turn right again and follow this path, which gradually turns south. Stay on this flat path, without trying to climb towards the Observatory antenna, then turn right at the fork. Shortly afterwards, turn right just before a bushy hedge and immediately turn left to follow this hedge on your left (this small detour avoids a private passage). Continue straight ahead and you will soon reach the end of the vineyard at an isolated house near Notre-Dame de La Salette.
(3) Leave the small staircase leading down to Notre-Dame de La Salette on your left (there is a small sign on site) and continue straight ahead along the house. Ignore a path on the right and then an alley on the left and take theGR® trail in the direction of Montagny. Stay on this winding path, which climbs up to a lane in the woods a little higher up. Turn left and then immediately right. After 150 metres, you will reach a forest path on the left.
(4) Turn left, almost against the flow of traffic, and cross the pine forest. Continue straight ahead along a wide path on the edge of the forest for about 600 m until you reach the vineyard and enjoy a bird's eye view of the suburbs of Buxy.
Keep left to descend along the vineyard for about 150 m, then leave the path that turns left and take a short narrow passage to reach another vineyard slightly below. Walk along this vineyard until you come to a perpendicular lane (Chemin des Bouchots).
(5) Turn left for 50 metres before turning completely right between the properties. Soon you will walk along a fence and return to the vineyard. Keep left at the fork, then quickly turn left towards the north to follow a wide double lane between the vines, which leads to a pine forest.
Walk along the pine forest and continue straight ahead until you come to a perpendicular row of vines. Turn right, then quickly left, and you will reach the corner of a tarmac road. Follow this road to the right and you will reach a four-way crossroads at a wooden kiosk.
(6) Cross the road and follow the path opposite, which soon joins another road. Take the road and immediately take the second path on the left. This path quickly turns north-east to climb up through the vineyard and join Rue du Vieux Château. Turn left onto this road, which immediately curves to the right, and continue uphill to a crossroads at the Statue of the Virgin.
(7) Leave the road that turns left and follow the path that continues straight ahead. Soon turn right at the first fork, then quickly left at the second. Ignore a lane on the left and continue downhill towards the east until you cross the D125 a little further down.
(8) Head left, keeping to the right to take Chemin des Raveaux. Soon leave the tarmac road by turning right onto a dirt track. Continue straight ahead at the next intersection before enjoying a lovely view of the elegant Château des Raveaux. Turn left 100 m further on to walk along the castle grounds. Follow the lane that goes around the château before coming to a perpendicular path near the Vieux Puits.
(9) Turn right and continue straight on after the gymnasium until you reach a four-way intersection at the corner of the motocross track. Follow the path downhill and take the footbridges. Shortly afterwards, turn right to follow another path between the trees and soon cross the Ruisseau de Couramble ford. Climb up the other side and a little further on you will reach the Carrefour de Naubey.
(10) Carefully cross the road and climb up the vineyard opposite for about 250 metres until you reach another four-way intersection. Turn left onto a path that leads into the forest and gradually veer to the right until you come to a perpendicular path. Turn left and you will soon reach another crossroads at the Sources du Reuil.
(11) Turn right and ignore another path that branches off to the right shortly afterwards. The path turns west and joins an X-shaped crossroads. Head right and then immediately turn left towards La Chapelle Saint-Benoit. Leave the hamlet on your left and follow the lane as it continues to quickly reach another road. Turn left and immediately cross the D125.
(12) Cross this road carefully and head towards Sassangy. After 100 metres, turn left and stay on this path between the vineyards until you cross the D125 again a little further on. Opposite, take a path along the edge of a property and follow the hedge before continuing south until you reach Rue du Quart Pigneret. Follow the road as it continues and you will soon reach the town hall of Bissey-sous-Cruchaud (S/E).
