Park in the car park at the Montagny-lès-Buxy cemetery.
(S/E) Take the road on the right, heading south, leaving the car park and continuing straight ahead at the following intersections. Pass in front of the war memorial before reaching the end of Rue du Bourg.
(1) Turn right and follow Chemin de la Vierge until you reach theGR® 76D coming from Rue du Moulin a little further up. Continue straight ahead, then keep to the right at the stone cross to cross the D983.
(2) Carefully cross this busy road and continue opposite on the GR®. Ignore all the side paths and stay on this wide, well-maintained path, which runs alongside a scrubby area before reaching the Neuilly crossroads (elevation 392) a little further on.
(3) Leave theGR® and follow the lane on the left towards Rimont until you reach the gate of the Château de Neuilly on the right. Leave the road that turns left and continue along a straight dirt track between the bushes.
A little further on, ignore the start of a small path on the left, at the Clos Renard bend. Continue south on the main path until you reach a fork, entering the woods.
(4) Leave a wide forest path that veers to the right and keep left on a path that winds through the deciduous woods. Further on, you will find a clear view on the left and continue downhill until you reach a small road.
(5) Turn right and continue downhill until you come to a wash house on the bend. Ignore the path that branches off to the left behind the wash house and stay on the road to reach Rimont Church, which is clearly visible from below.
(6) Keep left and follow Chemin des Crays for about 200 metres. Leave the road as it turns right and follow a dirt track that continues straight ahead. Immediately walk alongside the large property overlooking the valley on the left and continue until you cross the D983 again a little further down.
Cross carefully and you will soon see the Lavoir des Neuf Fontaines on your right.
(7) Turn left, facing the wash house, towards Les Ministres. Immediately keep to the right, leaving the narrow path that leads straight to Les Combes d'Arches. The path turns eastwards and climbs steeply through limestone grasslands. Ignore several side paths before reaching the La Croix des Coutres crossroads further up (a wooden cross clearly visible on the right).
(8) Continue straight ahead between the hedges and keep left at the next two intersections. The path levels out and gently joins theGR® 76D at the La Cassine crossroads.
(9) Turn left, heading north, then continue straight ahead at the next crossroads. A little further on, you will reach the Statue of the Virgin. Take a short detour to the right to reach the viewpoint and enjoy the panorama.
Return to theGR® and continue north to the La Grande Roche crossroads.
(10) Take the road on the left and immediately turn right to stay on the GR®. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads and you will reach another intersection a little further on, at La Croix de Saint-Morille.
(11) Keep left, still on theGR®, before leaving it 300 m further on to follow a path that veers to the right. After 200 m downhill, leave this path at a hairpin bend and continue along a wide grassy passage, quickly rejoining a smaller path.
Continue in the same direction, then take two wooden footbridges, one after the other, along the side of the rock. Walk along the edge of a property before coming out a little further down on Chemin de la Vierge. Turn right for a few metres and you will find Rue du Bourg at the first intersection.
(1) Turn left and follow Rue du Bourg, which you took on the way there, to return to the car park (S/E).
