Departure from the top of the Saint-Désert church car park.
(S/E) From the top of the car park, walk along the right-hand side of the church via a crosswalk alongside the school to reach Rue du Treuil. Turn right, then right again at the fork, onto Rue de Montroy.
You will soon pass an alley on your right, and 100m further on, you will leave the road on your left. Continue straight on until you reach the signposted "Chemin du Moulin à Vent".
(1) Ignore a footpath on the left, and continue along this path, which soon turns south-west. Pass the Gîte du Moulin, ignore the cross-paths and reach a road shortly after a stone cross.
(2) Turn completely left, almost against the direction of travel, then immediately right onto Chemin de Meuriche. Soon you'll pass a footpath on your left, and join a cross-country path at the end of the grove.
Bend left, leaving the hamlet of Vingelles below to your right. Follow the path southwards, passing the first crossroads. Just after a right-hand bend, reach a clear space in the middle of a crossroads.
Go left, leaving the path leading to Chapelle Saint-Benoît on your right, and immediately turn right to head south again. Ignore a path on the right, then turn left at the fork, leaving Rue de le Ruée on the right.
After 100m, continue left at another Y junction, and shortly afterwards come to a junction with the "Source du Reuil" (the spring is 50m below on the right).
(4) Continue straight ahead and quickly take the first path on the right into the woods.
Keep to this path, which soon turns east and descends to a four-way crossroads in the middle of the vineyards.
(5) Turn left and keep to this wooded, hilly path, ignoring all the cross-country paths until you reach the first houses in Rosey. Continue straight ahead, taking Chemin des Bruaires and Rue de la Grange Saint-Pierre in turn, until you reach the Monument aux Morts.
(6) Turn right into Rue du Méloisé, then left into Rue du Château. Cross Rue des Noyers and follow Chemin du Seigneur to reach Rue du Prieuré. Turn left along the church to the crossroads.
(7) Turn right onto Rue du Treuil, then after approx. 300m, turn right again onto a grassy path between bushes. Keep to this path, which will soon turn left and join an alleyway.
Follow this lane to the left along a stone wall to the next crossroads. Turn left and immediately right into the Chemin des Écoliers to reach the church car park (S/E).
A very pleasant, varied trail, almost entirely on foot. Beautiful views and many points of interest (old windmill, original old wash-house in a semi-circle, castle, churches, one of which is fortified, and of course vineyards).
