Departure from Saules church. Parking on Rue de l'Église.
(S/E) Turn left, heading west, as you leave the car park. Pass the church steps before turning quickly right onto Rue de la Cure. After about 60 m, take thefirst path on the left at the corner of a building. Follow this path uphill between the vineyards for about 250 m until you find a wide path on the left.
(1) Turn left. At the end of this path, turn right for a few metres before immediately turning left onto another path that heads south-west. Stay on this comfortable path along the hillside in the vineyard. Further on, this path turns sharply west before joining the D153 near the village of Culles-les-Roches.
(2) Turn left onto the departmental road and soon turn right after the guardrail to follow Rue du Château Gaillard. Shortly afterwards, turn left onto Chemin des Clos.
Turn right at the next junction to soon cross theGR®76trail near Chemin de la Mouille.
(3) Ignore theGR® and follow Chemin de la Mouille almost opposite. Pass the houses and almost immediately turn left onto a narrow path between the trees that leads to the stream bed slightly below.
Take thefirst footbridge and continue to the right along a well-maintained path alongside the Mouille before rejoining the path a little further on at the top of the steps.
(4) Head left and continue left around the hairpin bend. Keep left again to cross the old railway line via the bridge visible from below.
Stay on the path that turns right after the bridge before climbing and winding through the woods. A little further up, ignore a path on the left and continue until you reach a four-way crossroads in an open area.
(5) Turn left and re-enter the forest. Ignore a path veering left towards the huts and continue along the path, which will soon turn right towards the south. Stay on this winding forest path, which is somewhat like a roller coaster. The path will head south-east and reach a clearing near a green waste disposal site.
(6) Head left and you will soon find a trail starting on the left at the exit of the site. This narrow trail allows you to avoid crossing the D28 road and quickly joins a wider path a little further down.
Keep left and follow this forest lane eastwards then north-eastwards until you come to a crossroads further on.
Turn right, then left when you reach the road and, after 50 m, you will find theGR®76on your right.
(7) Turn right to take thisGR® and stay on it at the following intersections until you reach La Sachette.
(8) Turn left towards the viaduct and reach the hamlet. Turn right and immediately keep left along the house. Continue straight ahead via a relatively narrow passage until you reach a crossroads a little further down.
Turn left towards the north and stay on this path in the valley until you reach a five-way crossroads at a place called Viaduc. (NB: The viaduct is not far away but cannot be seen yet).
(9) Head straight ahead towards Noiseret and you will soon pass under the Crainseny Viaduct. Continue in the same direction until you reach the Noiseret crossroads.
(10) Continue northwards, following the signs for Mairie. Immediately turn left at the fork and stay on this path between vineyards and woods until you reach a four-way crossroads near the first houses in Saules.
(11) Continue along Rue de Châtenay, cross the D153 further up, then turn left onto Rue de l'Église and return to the car park (S/E).
