La Motte-Fanjas walks

In the heart of Royans, this hike will allow you to discover the ruins of Rochechinard Castle, the Rochechinard Museum and its chapel, as well as beautiful views of the Royans hills and the Vercors mountains.

This easily accessible hike offers superb views of the Vercors. I recommend doing it in the afternoon in winter and late afternoon in summer.

This moderately hilly route will allow you to discover the typical landscape of the Royans. Through meadows and walnut groves, this loop will also allow you to appreciate the charms of the villages of Saint-André-en-Royans and Pont-en-Royans (medieval streets, hanging houses, banks of the Bourne) after crossing a neighbourhood called "Le Paradis".

An easy walk to discover the heritage and countryside around these two villages. You will walk along the edge of the Royans hills with beautiful views of the plain to the east. At the beginning and end, this walk partly overlaps with the marked hike: "L'Hostunoise".

The Frochet caves are a cavity where a small lake has formed. Be sure to bring a headlamp to enjoy them. This hike is quick, the lower part of the route is easy, but the end of the route is quite steep on a narrow path.

This hike is accessible to all and offers a 360° view of the Vercors and Pont en Royans. Ideal before dinner to whet your appetite!

The Trois Châteaux viewpoint offers a bird's eye view of Pont-en-Royans.From the Serre-Cocu orientation table, there is a beautiful panorama of the eastern ridges of the Vercors, from Grande Moucherolle to Grand Veymont.This hike takes place partly in the forest and follows roads to avoid private property.

Walk around Mont Baret with access to two waterfalls. At the start of the hike, enjoy the view of the hanging houses of Pont-en-Royans. Passing through the Petits Goulets, a series of four tunnels on a narrow and very busy road, it is advisable to bring torches so that you are visible to motorists.

A pleasant circuit on the western side of the Vercors, more precisely in the Royans, which takes you to a small summit offering a beautiful view of the Isère plain and the peaks of the Vercors.

You will start at the lowest point in Saint-Lattier and climb to the highest point, where you will enjoy a 360° view of the Vercors, Drôme and Ardèche mountains. The cobbled climb, an ancient medieval road, leads to Bel Aire. Along the way, you can admire the paving, the structures from the period and the ruts carved out by the carts and wagons that used to travel to the castle mound known as "Le Pain Sucre", which dominates the Saint-Lattier valley.

This is an easy hike. It will take you between the Isère and the Bourne Canal, passing by the Sainte-Béatrix Chapel and its promontory overlooking the Isère with a remarkable view of the Vercors.

Very nice hike without any difficulty, with stunning views of the Pas des Voutes, Pas de la Charmate and Pas de l'Allier.

La Grande Cournouse is a citadel surrounded by cliffs upstream from Pont-en-Royan, which can be accessed via several passes. The proposed route climbs up the physically demanding Pas de Pabro, after a possible visit to the cave of the same name, then passes above the Pas des Voûtes and La Charmate, with a visit to the Mesolithic site, to reach the Pas de l'Allier, from where the descent back down is more even. Hike not possible at present: Closure of the Pas de l'Allier trail (Echevis municipality) by municipal decree.

Almost entirely through undergrowth and forest, this pretty, fairly challenging hike offers beautiful views of the Vercors and the Romans valley on a clear day. The ridge route, passing by the Rocher de Chantemerle where the Beauregard TV transmitter is located, is a succession of ascents and descents, sometimes close to or far from the cliffs, sometimes over rocks or sharp limestone pavement.

A variation on the classic hike via the Col des Marchand (which it avoids), less demanding in terms of difficulty and duration than the usual routes, this loop takes you along good paths and trails to the Pré de Cinq Sous, returning via the Ravin des Goulets and the luminous Ravin de Tête d'Homme.

A walk in the southern foothills of the Chambarans offering beautiful views of the Vercors and, at times, the Chartreuse and the Monts d'Ardèche. There are no difficulties to be feared on this walk, apart from the distance. You will be walking on dirt tracks, footpaths and small asphalt roads.

A very pleasant short hike. Much of the hike is in the shade. The view of the Vercors is magnificent when you reach Pas du Loup.

A "wild" route at the start, two caves to visit and a magnificent panorama to admire from the Montagne de Mussan, covering a large part of the Vercors, make this hike well worth the effort.

You start in the charming medieval village of Beauvoir-en-Royans and head to La Sône. On the way there, you take the kingfisher trail along the Isère. This is a short day's walk combining culture and nature. September 2020: several hikers have reported significant deterioration of the trail along the Isère River. Some sections may even be dangerous.

This forest hike will take you to the edge of the Presles cliffs, where you can discover some spectacular scenery. Not for those who are afraid of heights!

This hike is mainly in forest, is easy and can be done in all seasons. It offers superb views of the southern Grésivaudan valley from St Marcellin to Roman sur Isère.

An unusual hike starting from the village of Meymans, along the ridge at the start with a return via the Ravin des Combes.Important: the passage through the ravine is quite technical and unmarked. Follow the path that seems obvious on either side of the small stream, which can be a little difficult to cross after heavy rain.

Between agricultural plains, walnut groves and unobstructed views of the Vercors, this accessible circuit takes you along quiet little roads, ideal for discovering the landscapes around Saint-Marcellin while enjoying a rich natural and cultural heritage.

A walk between the countryside and the town of Saint-Marcellin, which can be shortened or extended as desired. You will cross the Cumane, pass under the viaduct and visit the allotment gardens. On the ridges of Saint-Marcellin, you will be treated to a superb view.

This hike on the borders of the Drôme offers a magnificent viewpoint at its highest point with a panoramic view of the Vercors mountain range, the Roman plain and the Ardèche mountains.

A very pretty loop from the hamlet of Les Ducs, crossing the Pas de Bouvaret and then the Pas de la Pierre, offering superb views of the Rhône valley, the Vercors and the Ardèche.

This hike will take you on a journey. At the start, you will have to tackle the foothills of the Vercors, but once you reach Montchardon, you will have arrived in Tibet. It is best to do this hike on a Sunday so that you can visit the Tibetan Studies Centre.
