Park in the car park at Place des Potagers in the village of Meymans.
(S/E) Turn right as you leave the car park, then left onto Route du Thiolet for about 200 m.
(1) Turn left onto Route du Pigerenton, then take Chemin de Bellevue on your right and continue to the second right-hand bend.
(2) Head due north onto the path opposite. Further on, turn left onto the tarmac road heading west and quickly turn right onto a dirt track running parallel to the road, which you’ll rejoin after 200 m. Follow it straight ahead towards the north-west.
(3) Turn due west and pass between two walnut groves to reach a multi-way junction. Turn right, heading due north, onto Chemin de Blache Ronde, which becomes a dirt track after the letterbox. Continue to a crossroads.
(4) Turn right and, after a fairly steep descent, enter the woodland. You’ll reach a crossroads just before a power line.
(5) Head straight ahead (towards the Red Cross), pass under the power line and follow the edge of the meadow on the right until you reach a fork in the path.
(6) Turn right and follow the fence. 160 m further on, turn sharply right to pass between two trees.
(7) Turn left and head up towards the farm. At the well, take the path on the left, passing in front of the shed to reach the tarmac road. Take this road, turning left and heading due north for 300 m, then turn left onto the Route de l’Ecancière. Pass under the motorway and continue straight on, ignoring the roads on the left.
(8) Cross the bridge over the Canal de la Bourne. At the Y-junction, turn left onto the road that runs alongside the canal, until you reach the small memorial.
(9)Take the Route du Souvenir to get closer to the D532.
(10) When you reach the main road, there is a rather inconspicuous path on the left, closed off by a chain, which takes you up alongside a small stream. You’ll need to wade across it two or three times. This can be tricky after heavy rain. It’s the only difficult part of the walk. Walk for 850 m through the ravine, trying not to lose sight of the path.
(11) At the exit of the ravine, turn left onto the wide path which takes you over the motorway via a bridge and joins the Route de l’Ecancière.
(12) Turn right onto this road and follow it for 300 m until you reach a T-junction. Turn left, heading south-east, onto the old road, which becomes a dirt track as you head towards Bois Vert.
(13) Opposite the farm building, take the forest track on the left, then turn right onto the tarmac road for a few metres. Then turn left onto the D522 and follow it carefully to the car park (S/E).
