Riaillé walks
Étang de la Provostière and Rigole des Ajeaux starting from Riaillé
A very shady route with little road (approximately 1 km) that takes you around the entire Étang de la Provostière, classified as a sensitive natural area, and follows the Rigole des Ajeaux, which feeds the Étang de Vioreau a few kilometres to the west.Note: avoid venturing around the lake during periods of high water. The path may be difficult to navigate.
The Erdre footpaths from Bonnœuvre
This is a pleasant, varied route with numerous sections through the forest, along farm tracks and finally alongside the beautiful River Erdre, which we follow at the end of the route.
This route follows two sections of marked routes, in yellow but in a very random manner; one on the Layons route and the other on the Erdre route.
Several sections are on authorised private land. Please respect these areas.
Tour of Lake Vioreau
This small 2 km² lake between Nantes and Châteaubriant will delight you with the beauty of the site and all the activities on offer: hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, sailing, etc. The walking tour takes you along some very pleasant paths.
La Chauminette route
Set off to explore the Touchois bocage and its small sunken lanes. As soon as you set off, enjoy the 360° panorama from the Mont Juillet site. Its orientation table will help you to interpret the landscape around you.
Then set off to explore the surrounding countryside.
As you wander along the paths, you may come across an old building, a manor house, a calvary, a well or even a bread oven, each of which bears witness to a bygone era...
The Circuit des Arcades of the Rigole de Vioreau canal
Discover an unusual trail, following the banks of "La Rigole Alimentaire”, a small canal feeding into Vioreau Pond. The canal crosses the valley of the Erdre thanks to four aqueducts with eight to ten arches and travels underground over 600 m. It is, moreover, spanned by many picturesque stone bridges... During your walk you can admire the Castle of La Lucinière and the wooded area on the other side of the Valley of Erdre.
Gentle walk in Nort-sur-Erdre
This walk is flat and allows you to follow the Erdre river before climbing back up from L'Isle along the Ruisseau de Montagné. This route is very natural, except for the section through the town centre (where we pass over a milestone on the Way of St James).
Blanche Noë Marshes Route
Set off to explore the Blanche Noë Marshes and the Nantes-Brest Canal.
The Erdre River, described by FrançoisI as "the most beautiful river in France", boasts a rich and diverse ecosystem. As you explore the marshes, you may spot one of the 140 species of birds listed in the vicinity of this river, which is classified as a Natura 2000 site.
Île Delage and the banks of the Loire in Ancenis
A pleasant family walk that takes you through the parks and gardens of Ancenis and Saint-Géréon, the Château d'Ancenis, Les Halles and Île Delage, ending along the Loire.
Oudon route via La Pilardière and the Hâvre valley
This is a very pretty route in the Oudonnaise countryside, featuring the Pilardière communal estate and the Hâvre valley. The route consists almost entirely of paths and trails, with very little tarmac. It is accessible in all weathers, except along the banks of the Hâvre during periods of high water. Many sections are tree-lined, making it particularly pleasant in hot weather. Depending on the season, you may be able to admire magnificent carpets of cyclamen at the foot of the trees on the Pilardière estate.

Take the time to observe the typical flora and fauna of each of these environments, as well as the unobstructed view of the Loire valleys as you cross the vineyards of Drain.

Starting from the Beauregrêt campsite, walk close to the waterholes. These exceptionally rich environments reveal their different facets as the seasons change. The route takes you along the Nigaudière and Rompure ponds, where the waters of the Robinets stream slowly warm up before joining the Loire. The surrounding meadows, bordered by hedges of ash trees—mostly pollarded—are exceptionally well preserved.
