Start from the large car park opposite the Davrays stadium and the Île Mouchet campsite.
(S/E) Take the path that runs alongside the car park and head left towards the theatre. Cross the crossroads and follow Allée Ursulines, which runs alongside the local theatre. Continue along the lane to the end, climb the steps and turn right to join the road (Avenue de la Davrays). Turn left, cross the bridge over the railway line and go straight on at the roundabout. Continue to the first crossroads.
(1) Turn right onto the street. This street leads into the Petit Moulin neighbourhood. At the first fork, keep left and continue until you pass a tennis court and a football pitch.
(2) Take the path on the right, between the football pitch and a pond (former quarry). Follow the path for a few dozen metres, then turn right towards the car park. Cross the car park and join Rue des Maîtres. Take this street on the right and continue to a roundabout. Cross it and continue along Rue des Maîtres for about 50 metres.
(3) Enter the park on the right. Cross it using the path furthest to the right. Go around the houses on the left and, after passing a toilet block, you will come to a small pond. Go around it on the right, walk about three-quarters of the way around and turn right onto the small path that leads to Rue Lamoricière.
(4) Turn right onto this street and go under the bridge. Then turn right and follow Boulevard Joseph Vincent, alongside the retirement home, until you reach the large roundabout. Turn left onto Rue du Général Leclerc and continue straight ahead until you reach the entrance to the château.
(5) Go around the castle on the left, then turn right to enter the grounds. Walk to the end of the grounds to enjoy the superb view of the Loire and the bridge that crosses it. Leave the grounds by the same route, turn right and go up Rue du Pont. At the second street, notice a magnificent building on your right: Les Halles (under renovation in November 2016).
Turn right onto the small street that runs along the left side of Les Halles, then take the first left. Cross the covered car park "Les Halles des Vinaigriers". Take Rue du Roi Albert (1st on the right) to reach Place de l'Église Saint-Pierre.
(6) Cross the square, heading towards the right-hand side. At the end of the square, go down the steps and turn left onto Rue Saint-Paul. At the bottom of this street, turn right onto Rue Saint-Pierre, cross the small square and, after the roundabout, cross the street to reach the Loire side. Join the path that runs alongside the Loire and continue to the left (upstream), passing between the buildings and the river. Continue past the last buildings, where the path widens and turns to the right.
(7) Leave the cycle path and go straight down towards the bed of the Loire. Please note: this passage is impassable during winter or spring floods, when access on foot to Île Delage is impossible.
Cross the bed of the Loire branch (dry) and climb back up to Île Delage, passing on the left side of the barrier. Continue along the path, which turns to the right. Stay on the path and go to the end to reach one end of the island where you can descend to the river level. You can picnic here, but please do not leave any rubbish behind. Return along the same path towards the last large roundabout.
(8) Continue left on the paved path, staying along the Loire. Further on, go under the bridge and continue along the river.
(9) At the restaurant "La Charbonnière", take the path on the right, then immediately left to pass in front of the restaurant and find yourself on a higher level. Continue along the river to the Théâtre de Verdure. Turn right onto the road that runs alongside the campsite, then after about 150m, you will reach the large car park where you started (S/E).
