The Prémesques countryside
Prémesques, the starting village, is at the edge of the suburbs, close to Lomme and Pérenchies.This humble asphalt route could nonetheless satisfy joggers and provide plenty of fresh air for walkers. What else could you ask for?If you set off at daybreak, you might see a few partridges fly in, encounter a few rabbits and maybe even some hares.

From one bank of the Deûle to the other

The walk follows the Canal de la Deûle, on the towpaths on both banks: La Madeleine to the east and Saint-André to the west. A mixed urban and nature trail between two bridges. Several information boards on the La Madeleine side. The trail is also quite popular with cyclists and runners on the La Madeleine side.
Loos trail via Wattignies and Emmerin

Just a stone's throw from Lille, an easy stroll through unspoilt countryside, passing through the Emmerin wellfields. The end is a little urban before entering the leisure and nature park.
Along the Deûle canal between Wambrechies and Quesnoy-sur-Deûle
An easy 10 Km round trip along both banks of the Deûle canal.

The Comtesse garden in Wambrechies

At the start of this route, you can visit the magnificent park and garden of the Countess de Robersart, who lived at the château of the same name in the 19th century. This perfectly circular garden contains many listed medicinal and perennial plants.You'll also appreciate this remarkable marina on the Canal de la Deûle.The rest of the route is a leisurely stroll on asphalt through the Wambrechies countryside.

Departing from the Parc Mozaïc car park, a 15km hike along the farm tracks of the Marais de la Deule, between Emmerin, Noyelles-lès-Seclin and Ancoisne.
Neuve-Église countryside starting from Ploegsteert
Departure from the car park on the main square in Ploegsteert centre via the countryside of Neuve-Église. Pass by the farms. Dirt track to the border with Neuve-Église. Then a paved path and return via a dirt track. Pass through the Bois de la Hutte at the end of the route.

Ploegsteert via Wulvergem, Plugstreet and the British memorial
Departure from the car park on the main square in Ploegsteert via the countryside of Neuve Eglise, Wulvergem, the Plugstreet Interpretation Centre and the British Memorial in Ploegsteert. Pass through dirt tracks that cross agricultural areas.

Start and finish at the car park in front of the British memorial in Ploegsteert. You can also start from the main square in Ploegsteert. The route crosses a field, so check the weather before setting off. Some paths are quite muddy in winter.

The Christmas Truce Memorial and Rosenberg from Ploegsteert
Start and finish at the car park in front of the British memorial in Ploegsteert via the historic site of the Christmas Truce memorial and Rosenberg. Pass by Wallonia's only hop farm, called Forrest Farm.

The towpath of the Canal de la Deûle

This walk brings you into close contact with the canal's barges and birds. As the towpath is almost completely tarmac, this walk is particularly enjoyable in winter, when the paths are too muddy and impassable.
From La Louvière to Île aux Saules

Hiking on the Haute-Deûle canal between Don and Ile aux Saules, between Bauvin and Billy-Berclau.In addition to the canal, you'll have the chance to discover beautiful natural areas such as Parc de La Louvière, Espace Chico Mendès and Île aux Saules.

A beautiful route through the fields, great for getting some fresh air, but preferably in dry weather.
Wulvergem via the countryside of Ploegsteert and Neuve Eglise
Departure from the car park of Wulvergem church. Pass through Rosenberg, along dirt tracks and through fields that are wet and muddy in winter. Pass close to the Cense de l'Alouette vineyard, which was planted in 2018.In the shadow of Mont Kemmel, enjoy views of the Douve to the north and the Lys valley to the south.
Saint-Médard Church via the Lys, Menin, Halluin and Wervicq-Sud
Start and finish at the car park of Saint-Médard Church in Wervik via the Lys, Menin, Halluin marina, Bousbecque and Wervicq-Sud.
This route is part of the Montagne route in Wervicq-Sud.
Around Phalempin and its forest

15 Km circuit in and around the Phalempin Forest. Start from the carpark opposite the Phalempin church.
Around Ennetières
Walk around the village of Ennetières along the TGV (high-speed train) line and then the runways of Lesquin airport.Cobblestones and tarmac, ideal when the dirt roads are too muddy.
Around Fretin and Avelin
A walk that can be enjoyed in wet weather, with little mud and very quiet roads.As you leave Pont Thibault, you'll come to the cobblestones of the same name. They are used by the Paris-Roubaix cyclists in early April.
Waiter, a 3 Monts, please!

A patchwork of different routes in the area for a long hike that will delight your thighs.As for the mountains, like the Musketeers, there are four (or even five, I forgot the Baneberg near the mill), as you climb Mont Noir twice.In short, a nice climb in the Flat Country on numerous paths and a few small, quiet roads.
It's a demanding route, because even between the mountains, there are plenty of small hills. But, as is often the case in Belgium, the trails are well maintained and constantly being improved.
Walk to Kemmel

Short route on beautiful, well-maintained Belgian trails with good signage.Simple signposting: there are posts with numbers and an arrow indicating the number you want to go to (not easy to explain but obvious when you're there).
In wet weather, some areas may be soggy or even very muddy.
