Start and finish in front of the Résidence des Sylphides: car park nearby.
(S/E) Follow Quai de Beauvais towards the Lys. Cross the roundabout using the pedestrian crossings and continue straight on along Quai de la Dérivation. Then turn right to cross the car park.
(1) Turn right onto the red path, towards the Complexe Léo Lagrange. Further on, keep to the right to go alongside the sports ground and then the pond.
(2) Continue to the right, skirting a car park, until you reach a wide path; follow this to the left for about a hundred metres. Turn onto another path to the right, then turn left to reach the banks of the Lys.
(3) Turn right, go under the bridge and follow the river. You’ll come to the end of a tarmac road; turn right to leave the riverbanks. At the junction, turn left onto Rue d’Houplines, then left again to cross the bridge over the Lys. Continue for about a hundred metres.
(4) Take the sharp left-hand bend onto the small road leading back to the Lys and the towpath. Follow the river and continue along the Chemin du Pont Bayart, which then bends to the right.
(5) Turn right to cross the Pont Bayart. Once on the other bank, take the path on the right. After passing the running track, veer left to join the Quai de la Dérivation. Pass the Île de Flandre vocational college and continue to the roundabout. Go straight across the roundabout and continue on the Quai de Beauvais to return to the Résidence des Sylphides (S/E).
