Bois de Tournebride and the countryside around Verlinghem

Park in the Prévôté car park, located on Rue des Prés in Pérenchies. Accessible by bus: lines 75, 80 or 81.

(S/E) With your back to Rue de la Prévôté, cross the green space to reach the path that continues through the fields. You’ll come to a junction where the road meets the path.

(1) Cross the road and continue straight on for about 800 m, cross another road and you’ll come to a third.

(2) Cross this road and carry on straight ahead, entering the Bois de Tournebride via a tree-lined avenue.

(3) When you see the entrance to the houses on your left, turn right onto the main path through the woods.
You have a choice:
- Continue along this main path
- Or take the path on the left, which will rejoin this main path.

(4) Once you’ve left the woods, turn right just before the church. Follow the road diagonally to the right, which runs between the church and the cemetery. At the church’s apse, turn right onto Rue du Beau Rang, walk alongside the green space and pass the primary school.

(5) Once you reach the corner of this street, turn left and continue through the Rue des Marronniers housing estate to reach the main road (D654).

(6) Follow it to the right as you leave the village. Pass the German military cemetery, then the Ferme des Templiers.

(7) Turn right at the corner of the Estaminet Parent onto Chemin du Bois Parquet, and follow the road to the next T-junction.

(8) Take the road on the left, Chemin de la Vierge, until you reach the junction.

(9) Turn right onto Chemin du Temple and return to the original junction.

(1) Turn left and follow the route back the way you came to reach the car park (S/E).

Dirt tracks; the route may be muddy in wet weather, but is always passable without difficulty.
