(S/E) From Place des Combattants in Frelinghiem, head towards the Lys via Rue du Pont.
(1) Follow the riverbank to the right for 1,500 m along theGR®121B.
(2) Cross the Lys via the red bridge; you are now in Belgium. Continue along the opposite bank for 2,200 m.
(3) You are now in Warneton. Turn right and cross the two bridges over the Lys.
(4) Head downhill to the right and rejoin the Lys via Rue de Quesnoy.
(5) Join theGR®121Bon the left and follow the Lys.
(6) You are at the Péniche de Deûlémont. Continue along the banks of the Lys.
(7) At the confluence of the Deûle, on your left, and the Lys (which flows into the North Sea after Ghent), continue with the Deûle on your right.
(8) When you reach the hamlet of Les Écluses, take the small Impasse des Prairies. At the end, turn right onto Rue des 3 Frères Fretin, and follow this road until you see the yellow lock.
(9) Cross the Deûle via the metal footbridge. Turn left towards the marina, Quai de la Marine.
(10) Opposite the marina, leave the banks of the Deûle on the right, taking Chemin de Verlinghem. Cross Rue d’Ypres and continue to the end of the street.
(11) At Chemin de la Verte Rue, turn left and follow this road until you reach the market garden.
(12) At the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue de la Quênnerie and continue to Frelighien. Cross the D945 with care.
(13) At the wayside shrine, turn left onto Rue du Pont Rouge and continue straight on until you reach Place des Combattants (S/E).
