Circular cycling route in Les Weppes from Houplines

Start from the Houplines secondary school car park, Rue Roger Salengro.

(S/E) Opposite Houplines cemetery, turn right to reach the traffic lights. Continue straight ahead towards Prémesque, and keep going straight for 2.5 km.

(1) At the stop sign, turn left towards Pérenchies, then right onto Chemin de la Coeuillerie. Continue along this road, go under the railway bridge and then keep right onto Rue Roger Lecerf.

(2) At the top, turn right and continue to the end of Rue Roger Lecerf.

(3) Turn right (Rue Charles de Gaulle) then drive through Prémesques, continuing straight on, until you reach a roundabout.

(4) Continue straight ahead onto the M141, go over the railway lines and head for the hamlet of Blanc Coulon.

(5) At the crossroads, first turn right then left and follow Rue du Pindo towards Radinghem-en-Weppes. Cross the bridge over the motorway, then turn right immediately and head for the next junction.

(6) Turn left and head towards Rue de la Vallée in the hamlet of Les Trois Fétus.

(7) First turn right then left and continue along Rue des Trois Fétus until you reach a crossroad.

(8) Turn right then left and enter Radinghem-en-Weppes (town sign). Follow Rue des Obeaux straight ahead until you reach a side road.

(9) Turn right onto Rue du Bas, then left onto Rue du Martincamp. Follow this road until you reach a crossroads.

(10) Turn left onto Rue du Bas, then drive straight through the village of Le Maisnil. Pass the church and continue to the end of Rue de l’Église.

(11) Continue straight ahead, veering slightly to the right, onto Rue de la Fresnoy. Carry on along Chemin de la Frenoye, straight ahead, until you reach a four-way junction.

(12) Carry on straight ahead, cross the hamlet of Les Près then turn left at the corner of No. 1160. Continue straight on until you reach a crossroad at the entrance to Fournes-en-Weppes.

(13) Turn right, entering the village via Rue Faidherbe. At the roundabout, continue straight on until you reach Place du Kiosque.

(14) Continue straight ahead towards Fromelles, then turn left at the corner of No. 91, Chemin du Bois Lasson, pass through the hamlet of the same name and arrive at a crossroads.

(15) Turn left (Route de la Joirie) and carry on straight ahead until you reach a four-way crossroads with a magnificent wayside cross.

(16) Continue left onto Rue de Lommerie, enter Fromelles and reach No. 9. At the corner, take the alleyway on the right, then continue along a street, passing in front of the church and alongside the British Military Cemetery. Continue straight on until you reach the next three-way junction with a wayside cross.

(17) Turn left onto Rue Delval, heading towards Sailly-sur-la-Lys.

(18) Pass the Australian^First World War Memorial and Military Cemetery and reach the junction with the D175, just after the 1937 Michelin milestone.

(19) Turn right onto the D175 (green sign for the ‘Les Weppes’ cycle route), passing the Trou Aid Post Cemetery and the British Military Cemetery.

(20) Turn right at the next junction.

(21) At the crossroads, turn left onto Chemin de la Boutillerie. Continue along the D175 towards Bois-Grenier until you reach the junction with the M62.

(22) Turn right onto the M62, then turn left immediately at the large three-way junction, onto the one-way road (residents only). Cross the bridge over the high-speed rail line, keep right then left at the following junctions as you pass through the La Chapelle Industrial Estate, and arrive at a roundabout.

(23) Continue to the right onto Rue François Arago. At the end, turn left onto Avenue Industrielle, go under the motorway, then immediately turn right onto Rue du Bois, then left onto Rue des Glattignies and follow it to the end.

(24) Turn right (D933) then left onto Ruelle de la Blanche. At the next junction, turn right, cross the level crossing and continue straight on until the next road on the left.

(25) Take this road, Chemin du Pilori, then cross the M945 with care and continue straight ahead on Pavé de la Chapelle to the car park of Houplines secondary school (S/E).
