Parc-d'Anxtot walks

A walk combining country lanes and a bit of road. You’ll enjoy the landscapes of the Pays de Caux and, for the curious, the churches, châteaux and a few houses typical of the region. For food lovers, you can stop off at the bar in Gommerville... and finally, a rather unusual feature of this route: the dog cemetery.

A Beuzeville-la-Grenier anthology, ‘Une minute d’arrêt’, recounts the town’s history over the past 150 years; for example, it lists the occupations of the people of Beuzeville, where all residents who did not declare a profession were considered weavers, as there was a loom in almost every house.

It is said that the farmers of the Quartier du Carreau used to sell their chickens and rabbits in the village centre. On their way back, they were robbed in the woods on the hillside, now known as the "Briganderie".

The route mainly consists of walking on tarmac, with a short section in the Bois des Loges. From the car park at the start, there is a view of the Château de Maniquerville (now a hotel). At the beginning of the route, visit the small but charming Église Saint-Martin de Maniquerville. In Gerville, the Church of Saint-Michel is closed and cannot be visited. The Church of Notre-Dame in Les Loges is also worth a visit, as is the old "Les Loges/Vaucottes-sur-Mer" railway station, which houses old carriages and locomotives.

Starting from La Frénaye, the hike takes walkers on a journey of discovery through a doubly rich heritage: that of the former textile industry in the Pays de Caux and that of the even older Roman presence that left its mark on the area. Between rolling landscapes, archaeological remains and ancient sites linked to the textile industry, the route offers a unique immersion, where nature and heritage meet. Ideal for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Near Honfleur in Normandy, along the Seine estuary and in the bocage, a hike of about 20 km on trails with majestic panoramic views.

This route consists mainly of paths along the edge of woods that wind their way past a few isolated houses. The Saint-Arnoult forest is less well known than its neighbour, the Trait-Maulévrier forest, but is well worth a visit.

The proposed route will introduce you to the cultures of the Pays de Caux and the Terres de la Falaise from the village of Yport (listed site). After a route inland, return to Yport not far from the cliffs from the Vattetot valley via theGR® 21.

The stork has become the marsh’s iconic symbol: when the young stork takes flight from its family nest, it discovers this unspoilt natural landscape as it circles this ancient circular bend of the Seine, nestled within a vast amphitheatre of greenery. With its wet meadows stretching as far as the eye can see and its pretty thatched cottages, the Marais Vernier offers a landscape unique in Normandy that invites you to take a stroll, particularly in spring when the apple trees are in bloom.

A short hike, breathtakingly beautiful and surprising for its natural beauty and structures. This route is accessible to all with good footwear and offers a spectacle that is unique in the world! Be careful not to go too close to the edge of the cliffs: fatal accidents occur every year due to carelessness. There are no special safety measures in place.

Étretat is a seaside resort and tourist town located along the English Channel, on the Alabaster Coast, near the Seine estuary. It is known for its cliffs and famous three arches.

Climb the cliffs, enjoy the Fréfossé Château, go on a pebble beach away from onlookers, discover the small valleys of the Pays de Caux... This is on the menu of this short hike.

Walk to see the magnificent alabaster coast of Etretat. The Upstream and Downstream gates, the famous hollow needle where Arsène Lupin is said to have hidden his treasure, the Manneporte. Magnificent views of the cliffs and superb beaches. The walk skirts the Etretat cliffside golf course and the protected nature reserve.

Hike from Fécamp to Etretat and its cliffs. This hike follows theGR®21 trail. It is an easy hike overall, mostly flat and crossing numerous fields, so the trail is not always clearly marked, but you just need to keep your bearings and follow the red and white markings. However, there is a significant elevation gain due to the "valleuses", natural access points to the sea in this cliff-lined landscape.

The destination of this hike is Cap Fagnet, at the top of the cliffs overlooking Fécamp, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. This site can be reached via a country route that includes paved sections, as described here. It can also be reached via a very short circular route (1 km), also described as a variant. (Please note) Due to rockfalls, access to the viewpoint is prohibited (see message posted on 08/05/2023).

A hike along theGR®®223trail on the Normandy coast.

Take a stroll around Honfleur, with its charming harbour and churches, and climb up to the beautiful Notre-Dame-de-Grâce chapel, which offers stunning views of Honfleur, Le Havre, the mouth of the Seine and the Pont de Normandie bridge.

This walk, almost in the town centre, aims to show you the main points of interest in Honfleur.

Starting from Bouquelon church, take a long descent along a wooded path, then follow the Route des Chaumières along the Marais Vernier, finally returning via the Bois du Plessis.

Far from the modern world, a small valley hidden between meadows and forest reveals an intimate and authentic Normandy, with magnificent trees, sunken paths, fresh springs, typical thatched cottages and rolling landscapes. This route is not marked, hence its name "secret walk": geolocation is therefore recommended.

Forest trail, Cote de Grâce and its chapel, Honfleur and its Sainte-Catherine Church, the garden of personalities, walk on the beach and return to the woods with its rhododendrons.

Overlooking the Seine, the pretty village of Sainte-Croix-sur-Aizier borders the Brotonne State Forest, offering a hilly, shaded walk that alternates between the charms of the bocage and the canopy of tall beech trees.

Vieux-Port is the smallest commune in the Eure department. It has preserved the characteristic houses of eastern Normandy, half-timbered farmhouses with cob walls and thatched roofs. It is a popular stopover for boaters sailing on the Seine. The hike crosses the village, but also beautiful forests and typical Norman hamlets, and offers beautiful views of the Seine.
