Parking at the entrance to Rue Barette (5 spaces, including one for disabled people) on the other side of the road from the church in Équainville.
(S/E) With your back to the church, set off along Rue Barette.
(1) On the other side of the valley, keep left to stay on the tarmac road until the end of Rue Barette. Continue straight ahead on the path, following theGR® markings. As you climb, look to your left to see the Pont de Normandie bridge between the trees.
(2) At the top of the path, take the small road to the left. At the end of Rue de la Côte des Mares, turn right, pass two businesses and continue straight on Rue du Stade.
(3) At the end of Rue du Stade (there is parking for about ten cars in this clearing, alternative parking for small groups), continue straight ahead into Impasse de la Vallée. At the fork, keep right to stay on the edge of the woods, then continue straight ahead.
(4) At this fork, where you can see vehicles on the road in the distance, keep right along the hedge of beautiful pollarded trees. At the edge of the ravine, keep left to stay on the top of the edge of the woods. At the end of the path, take the small road to the right. At the end of the street, take the path that descends to the right and cross the valley.
(5) After the pretty cottage, take the small road to the right and then, at the fork, turn left to enter the woods. At thesecond fork and then thethird, turn left again to descend into the wooded valley. At the bottom, the path is very stony and may be wet after heavy rain, so be careful.
(6) Cross the stream and climb left towards the Fontaine Caillou wash house. Take a moment to enjoy the coolness of the spring and the beauty of the meadow and its old watercress bed, then climb the steep path. At the top, turn right and admire the landscape. At the fork, turn right again to continue enjoying the scenery.
(7) At the bottom, veer left and cross the stream. On the climb up to the gas line, turn left and follow theGR® markings. At the top, turn left and admire the magnificent beech trees lining the path. On the descent, veer slightly to the right, still following theGR®, and you will come out at Impasse du Bois.
(1) At the end, turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
