Tor des Géants
A magnificent hike following the trail of the ultra-trail of the same name. A hike designed for experienced hikers. The sections in the southernmost part can be tricky due to late snowfields on the north-east face. The route is very well marked, so there aren’t really any problems along the way. The hike can be done in either direction. This route allows you to tackle the wildest section at the start. It is also the most technically challenging part.
La Thuile – Refuge Albert Deffeyes
The hike starts from La Thuile. It is possible to spend the night at the campsite and head up at a leisurely pace in the morning: coffee is served there in the morning (this is Italy, after all). However, as the campsite is near the river, it can be noisy. The views are magnificent along the hike

The detour via Lac sans Fond allows you to make a loop.
Valgrisenche – Refuge Delle Marmotte
A pleasant climb with views of the lake. The Chalet de l’Épée refuge is a great place to relax before the climb up to the pass. On the other side of the pass, there may be a snowfield in a narrow gully, so be careful if you’re wearing trail shoes. The Refuge de la Marmotte is a collaborative refuge. After that, the solitude will be over. We rejoin the TMB from the Bonatti Refuge and its throng of hikers. The descent towards Courmayeur is superb, but once you reach the tarmac, it’s a very long way.

The climb to the Fenêtre de Ferret (2,698 m, very well marked) takes place in a grandiose setting, with unobstructed views of Mont Dolent, Grand Golliat, and the hanging glaciers of the Italian Val Ferret.
