From the Turin-Aosta motorway (A5), exit at Aosta. Take the SS26 towards Saint Pierre. Take the SR22 to Caillet, then the SR41 to Vétan. The start and finish of this hike are in Vétan Villette, near the Notre Maison hotel (large car park).
(S/E) From the car park, take the steep road heading north-west until you reach an intersection with a signpost and a wooden sculpture.
(1) At the sign, follow the direction for La Salle and, at the bend, you will reach an intersection.
(2) Turn left onto the track, passing in front of the Alpe de Chatelanaz buildings. Continue on the track heading south-west. Shortly before Alpe de Letanettaz Desot, look for a sign for La Salle.
(3) Turn left onto the small path that descends, reaching a crossroads.
(4) Turn right and continue west.
(5) Be careful, at this point the trail is diverted and this seems to be permanent. (The OSM map is therefore no longer up to date). The old trail is barely visible. Continue until you find the old trail below and the sign for La Salle.
(6) Continue towards Torrente Gaboe, where the path has also been damaged. Look for the best place to cross. Continue towards Torrente Torillon and cross it without any problems. Join a track at a hairpin bend.
(7) Follow the track to Alpe Letanaz Desot. Turn left until you reach a crossroads.
(8) As indicated by the sign, stay on the track towards La Salle. Continue to a fork.
(9) Take the upper track (on the right) and continue to the ruins of the Barmaveraz mountain pasture.
(10) Stay on the track and, after crossing two streams, arrive at Lago di Joux.
(11) Take a path parallel to the track to reach the Col du Mont Joux.
(12) At the pass, turn left (south) and follow a forest path to Mont Joux
(13) Take a break and enjoy the view of Monte Bianco. Return to the car park via the same route you took on the way there. (S/E)
