(S) Climb above the Bertone Refuge and reach a crossroads (2,125 m) equipped with an orientation table. View of Mont Blanc from Courmayeur and the Brenva glacier.
(1) Continue along the path on the right, more or less horizontally. Cross the mountain pastures.
(2) Cross the Torrent d'Armina on the footbridge, head towards Sécheron, then after a flat section and a slight climb, you will reach the junction with the track coming from Lavachey (1,851 m). Enjoy the panoramic view of Italian Mont Blanc for a long time.
(3) Climb up the path to the Bonatti Refuge (2025m).
(4) Go around the refuge at the top and join the buildings of the chalets of the lower Malatra Alp (2,054 m). Leave the path leading to the Malatra valley and continue north-east along the ridge.
(5) Descend to cross the torrent on the bridge and reach the chalets of Guié Dédot (2009m). Follow the path along the ledge until you reach a sharp bend (markers on the ground). Leave the path towards the Bellecombe valley and start the descent along the switchbacks that lead to the Ferret valley at a place called Arp-Nouva-Désot (1,776 m).
(6) Cross the Doire du Val Ferret and continue along the road for 200m. At the car park, take the path that climbs steeply at times (some tricky sections), then cross a stream on a wooden footbridge before coming out onto a large flat area where the Eléna refuge (2,054m) is located in the Pré de Bar mountain pasture. Arrival at the refuge (E) facing the Pré-de-Bar glacier.
