Please note that this hike was published in 2012, so check the comments before setting off. A small village with a rich architectural heritage and a hiking trail that showcases the architectural treasures of the Dordogne.

This walk traces the history of Saint-Cyprien from the 6th to the 21st century and allows you to visit the upper part of the village, which bears witness to the origins and history of the commune.

The aim of this hike is to see a 13th-century chapel, admire an 18th-century château (Château du Roch), explore a group of dry stone huts (Cabanes du Breuil) and visit a magnificent, beautifully furnished château (Château de Puymartin), all along a walking route that takes you along forest paths and small country roads. A very pretty, easy walk that allows you to discover some of the treasures of the Périgord Noir.

An easy family walk along three beautiful old Périgord villages.

Circular cycle route loop no. 6 starting from Les Eyzies. A circular route that will take your breath away! This challenging circular route takes you through unspoilt countryside and past numerous historical sites. Between gentle climbs and exhilarating descents, you will pass the Moustier archaeological site and La Roque Saint-Christophe, in the heart of the Périgord Noir. Not to be missed!

Une promenade au milieu des buis et des chênes verts au dessus du village des Eyzies. Cette petite boucle ombragée autour des Eyzies de Tayac peut être facilement parcourue en famille. Un sentier boisé escarpé rejoint le charmant hameau de la Mouthe, qui renferme la grotte du même nom (inaccessible à la visite).

C'est l'une des plus belles randonnées à faire autour des Eyzies-de-Tayac. Elle permet de profiter de la fraîcheur des sous-bois et offre une vue étonnante sur les falaises des Eyzies.

During this hike, you will discover a hilly, wooded area dotted with hamlets that bear witness to a rich farming history. The forest, composed of oak, hornbeam and chestnut trees, offers a rich palette of colours. Here and there, small islands of meadow add to this mosaic.

This hilly route takes the beautiful Chemin de la Peyrière, which offers splendid views of the valley, the village of Tursac and the Château de Marzac. It then crosses the hills to reach the narrow Beune Valley.

With this walk, you will not only visit Beynac, the famous village clinging to its cliff, with its castle overlooking one of the Dordogne's meanders, but also Cazenac, a quiet little hamlet high up in the valley, with its small church featuring remarkable modern stained glass windows.

Enjoy discovering the village of Beynac (one of the most beautiful villages in France) and don't hesitate to visit its castle, a jewel of 12th-century military architecture that has been constantly remodelled since then. You will then be able to admire the surrounding countryside of hills, valleys, shady forests, green meadows and typical Périgord houses with their undeniable charm.

This loop allows you to discover the pretty village of Audrix and see Labatut Castle.

This hike takes you up to a higher elevation with a beautiful view of the Vézère River, and also allows you to discover two sites: - La Roque Saint-Christophe, troglodyte dwellings in a limestone cliff one kilometre long and sixty metres high, - and the village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France.

A great day's walk, with options to visit the village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère (allow an extra hour). Several places to picnic.

Put yourself in the shoes of the Lord of Lasserre and visit his lands between the dairy farm of Pech Mortier and the ruins of the mill on the banks of the Beune, passing by the castle. The return trip is via Marcillac, between fields and forests.

On the northern slope of the Vézère, this route offers panoramic views of the Vézère valley and the Sarladais region. Several springs and wash houses line this route, which also boasts abundant and diverse flora.

You are in the Valley of the Five Castles, and the route offers splendid views. Starting at the Ruisseau du Treuil stream, you will skirt the Massif de la Bonnat, where oak, hornbeam and boxwood trees flourish, and discover fountains, wash houses and mills.

A short, easy hike between La Roque-Gageac and Castelnaud with beautiful views of the village and the castles of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Beynac and the Dordogne valley. Crossing the stream to reach the viewpoint is optional.

Starting from the village of Savignac de Miremont, enjoy a circular route that alternates between small country roads and forest paths and admire the exceptional architectural heritage of the village and the various hamlets along the way. You will also pass right by the prehistoric site of La Ferassie.
