Departure from Place Jean Ladignac in Saint-Cyprien. Parking available on this square.
The route is marked in yellow.
(S/E) At the sign on the town centre side, follow the yellow markings to reach Rue Abbaye des Augustins.
(1) Move slightly to the right to cross at the pedestrian crossing, turn right onto Rue de la Gravette and take the first street on the left, called Chemin de Fages. At the top of the hill, turn left onto Carreyrou du Sol and arrive at Place de la Feineire in front of the bell tower of Saint-Cyprien Church and the abbey.
(2) At the square, turn right into the alley opposite number 18 on the upper alley: an unusual house with pebbles that give it a "hedgehog" appearance. Then turn left onto Carreyrou de Montmartre. At the end of the lane, continue to the right and enjoy the beautiful view of the village. At the end of the tarmac road, continue straight ahead on the path that climbs uphill until you reach a crossroads (where you can take advantage of the benches at the entrance to the path on the left).
(3) Turn left onto Chemin des Grottes de l'Ermite. After an initial balcony section, climb up to a clearing where you will find two caves. A little further on, descend to the left to the third cave, which according to legend was occupied by the hermit Cyprien (see explanations on site).
(4) Go back up and turn left to pass above the cave, then continue downhill for about 150 metres. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, as the path on the right is private property. Walk through the woods, following the yellow markings, then turn right and climb the small hill through the chestnut trees to reach a road. Continue on the left, leaving the castle behind, and reach the Fages farm.
(5)Take the road on the left. At the crossroads, turn right tocross the Meynet farm and continue on the white path on the right, at the end of the tarmac road between the barns. You will reach a tarmac road.
(6) Turn right onto this road, which this time passes the Fages farm on your right.
(7) Enjoy the view of the castle and its medieval chapel on the right. The view to the left of the road reveals the Meyrals and Castels plain. Continue along the tarmac road to the water tower: viewpoint.
(8) Enter the village via Carreyrou de Montmartre, then turn left at number 18 to reach Place de la Feineire.
(2) From the square, turn left down Rue Abbaye des Augustins.
