Description of the walk

Park in the Audrix swimming pool car park.

(S/E) Turn right onto Rue du Coteau, then continue through the village on Rue Côte de la Baronnie heading east (towards the TDF relay antenna). Turn left onto Impasse de la Baronnie towards the D31E2.

(1) Cross the road and continue straight ahead, going around the wooded hill with the antennas. At the left-hand bend towards Gravard, leave the road and turn right onto the path that leads into the woods. Follow the sign for "Boucle de la Mélonie". At the first intersection with another path, turn right and join the departmental road near the cemetery.

(2) Turn left and walk for about 200 metres, then turn right onto the path. At all path intersections, keep left. You will reach a road near a place called La Mélonie.

(3) Follow it, turn right, ignore the two roads you cross and arrive at a place called Labatut, where you can see the castle on your left.

(4) Continue along the same road until you reach the middle of the hill.

(5) Leave the road and turn right towards Lesquillerie. After a slightly steep climb, you will reach a road. Follow it to the right to return to the village, which is already clearly visible (S/E).

The route is very pleasant, varied and on quiet paths or roads. We didn't encounter any other walkers. About half of the route is in woodland, which was particularly welcome in the heat.
As mentioned in the previous review, the explanation at the start was not very clear.
We ended up going in the opposite direction to the one described in the app.
In this direction (from 5 to 1), the road starts above the swimming pool. It is signposted with wooden signs indicating the Mélonie loop and by posts with yellow rings all along the way. In this direction, you return to the swimming pool car park via the lower route (below the swimming pool)
The village of Audrix, not mentioned in the green guide, is absolutely charming. I also recommend the medieval inn on the village square. Excellent welcome and food.

A very beautiful route with very few sections on roads and a variety of landscapes.
A few details:
(Start) A little confusing at the start: take the road below the swimming pool (street to the right of La Forge lane, a street that quickly becomes a footpath). The relay antenna indicated is only visible after a few minutes.
Otherwise, the start of the "Boucle de la Mélonie" route is signposted in the village.
(1) Follow the arrow pointing to "Boucle de la Mélonie", which is visible in the other direction.
(5) Turn right onto Route de Lesquillerie."
