Tursac Cingle Circular Loop

Starting from Tursac, this circular route winds its way through woodland and open countryside, offering beautiful views of the Vézère gorge. The route also offers a panoramic view of the troglodyte village of La Madeleine, clinging to the cliff, before returning to the pleasant shade of the woods. Along the way, pretty chestnut trees punctuate the walk and enhance the peaceful charm of this typical Périgord Noir route.

Description of the walk

This circular walk starts in the village of Tursac, at the signpost located behind the village church. You can park around the church or opposite it, in the town hall car park.

(S/E) From the signpost, walk between the church and the cross and continue slightly to the right along the Chemin de la Lambertie. Continue along this path until you reach a stone crossroads.

(1) Take the limestone path on the left.

(2) When you reach the edge of the trees, by the river, follow the path on the left. Walk alongside the Vézère until you enter the forest.

(3) At the end of the path, at the T-junction, take the path on the right.

(4) Turn left and continue along the path until you reach the main road.

(5) Cross it carefully and continue along the path opposite which leads into the forest.

(6) Join another forest path and take it on the left

(7) At the junction, take the Chemin de la Peyrière on the left and continue until you reach the first houses in the village.

(8) Turn right at the electricity pole onto the tree-lined path and continue until you reach the D706. Follow it to the right to enter the village and you will find the church 50 metres on the left (S/E).
