The Glacier Trail from Takakkaw Falls
A beautiful route at the foot of glaciers and peaks rising to 3,000 metres above sea level. A high mountain atmosphere guaranteed! Spectacular waterfalls, including Takakkaw Falls at the start, a mountain lake and a forest lake add to the diversity of the route.
Amédée River and Île du Colon, easier version
Set off to explore the confluence of the Amédée River and the Saint Lawrence River. The Amédée River ends with some interesting rapids and joins the river in an impressive curved descent. The trail will then take you to Île du Colon. Here is a version where the difficult part of the Amédée River and Île du Colon hike is replaced by a more accessible trail.Use of the Visorando app recommended.
Baie Saint-Pancrace
Visit the Baie Saint-Pancrace viewpoint, a hike with several magnificent, even impressive panoramic views. You head into the forest to descend to the bay, facing the waterfall formed by the Ruisseau Saint-Pancrace.
Estuary, dunes and viewpoints at Moulin à Baude
Moulin à Baude: viewpoints, estuary, beach, and above all, a huge dune that could be called "the Dune du Pilat of the Saint-Laurent". You wouldn't expect to find such a large amount of sand on the banks of a river. You can also discover gneiss, a metamorphic rock consisting of alternating light and dark bands found at the water's edge.
Saint Félicien: Chute-à-Michel, Ashuapmushuan River
Near Lake Saint Jean, this is an easy round trip along the Ashuapmushuan River, offering different views of the rapids. The trail is dotted with information panels on the history, fauna and flora of the area. At the end of the trail, you will discover some magnificent, typically North American villas.
Parc des Rapides
Follow the Saint Lawrence River in Parc des Rapides, aptly named as the river is particularly turbulent in this section. A permanent wave even allows you to surf: the Vague à Guy. The return journey takes you through a rather affluent neighbourhood with wide, quiet streets.
La Roche and Mont Tremblant
A lovely path that climbs through the woods, taking you to a magnificent viewpoint. On the way back, the path on the right allows you to make a circular route. There is a water point at the start and deckchairs on a pontoon on the lake.
From the centre of Mont-Laurier to the municipal park
Route completed as part of the Collégial Phys Ed. 103 course (Quebec). It can be done with children.
It is an urban route with interesting uphill and downhill slopes.
Part of the route has no pavement, so you have to walk along the side of the road.
At the end of the route, there is a municipal park that is not maintained by the city (neglected) and public toilets that are not in working order.

Saint Mary's Battery Park to Gaskiers Trail
A very beautiful walk along the coast. Park in the nicely decorated car park next to the Battery. Right from the start, there is a pretty, inaccessible beach on the right with pink and mauve rocks. You cross beautiful moorland, with a few muddy patches. When you reach the point, you can see from the photos the significant erosion of the coastline. Very beautiful view of the sea and the lagoon.
La Manche and its suspension bridge
Take Manche Road and park at the end of the track. Take the path to the right of the La Manche Village car park. Just before you reach the suspension bridge, there is a pretty waterfall on the left where you can swim. Superb view of the bridge, very clear water, with the possibility of seeing seals.
Signal Hill Trail
Park on Clancey Drive, in the car park along the lake. Beautiful vegetation. Follow the lake on the right until you see a sign indicating the walk to Signal Hill on the right. Go up the street, then take a path on the left. Then take the first path on the right with the sign indicating the different paths to the Signal Hill site. Climb up to Signal Hill for superb views of the coast: Fort Amherst and Cape Spear. Just before the Memorial, take the path on the right that descends towards the coast. This part is more difficult with a section where you need to hold on to chains. Walk along the quays and go back up to the Battery Road crossroads to descend Quidi Vidi Road. Turn left to reach the lake.
Beaches path at Witless Bay
A wonderful walk facing an ecological reserve and small islands where you can see penguins, seals and sometimes whales. The route follows the coast and provides access to small beaches. Park in the car park facing the sea at the end of the road
Cape Shore Trail
A beautiful round trip walk that takes you to Bonavista Lighthouse, a great place to see puffins and whales. Park in the car park at the start of the walk. Follow the trail. There is a picnic table facing the islets. After Bonavista Lighthouse, a geological curiosity with a heart carved into the rocks through which you can see the sea, you can walk along the road on the way back.
Fox Island
A beautiful walk through the coastal moors, we saw three fox droppings and crossed the colourful fishing village of Chapney's. Park in the car park at the entrance to the village. Follow the signs. However, access to Fox Island via the isthmus is closing, vegetation is growing back, and access is difficult with ropes. The walk indicated on the sign offers a 5.5 km circuit. Geological curiosity in the village.
Skerwink Trail
Known as the most beautiful circular walk. Park in the car park. Follow the signposted path. When you reach the signs, turn left towards Coastal. Enjoy beautiful views of the sea, cliffs and Trinity Cove. At the end of the walk, descend to a pretty little beach and a pond, then return to the car park.
Chance Cove Coastal Trail
Spectacular hike, it feels like Vietnam. Park in the car park and climb the stairs, walk through the pine trees, then enjoy the view of the isthmus. Then we followed the coast to a cape, where we saw two fin whales. We continued along the coast and discovered several viewpoints overlooking cliffs and pools of water in fantastic colours. We saw a bald eagle. Pretty beach where we saw a whale. Return to the isthmus through the pine forest, then back to the car park along the water's edge.
The Black Mountain in Quebec
A beautiful hike with a refuge, a watchtower and the remains of a Second World War aircraft along the way. Follow the Mesangeai trail. This hike allows you to discover the Montagne Noire.
Mont Ti Basse
This hike runs along the foot of Mont Ti Basse and some of its trails. Mont Ti Basse is a ski resort. This route is, of course, best done when there is no snow. The hike begins with the discovery of a sandy plain, which is unexpected in the middle of a forest.
Les Escoumins from Pointe de le Croix to Petite Anse du Cran Noir
This hike takes you around Baie des Escoumins from Pointe de la Croix to the small cove of Cran Noir, passing by Anse à Jos-Ross. The return route is via the Essipit neighbourhood.
Boisé de la Falaise in Baie-Comeau
A short hike in the Boisé de la Falaise, on the rocky plateau of the Manicouagan. The trail runs along the St. Lawrence River and offers an idyllic beach, while remaining on the trails. If you have an hour to spare during the day, this is the place to go.
Anse à la Barque via the Sentier le Fjord trail in Tadoussac
Nature trail between Lac de l'Anse à l'Eau and Anse à la Barque (cove on the Saguenay River) on the hill of Anse à la Barque. Start by following the Sentier le Fjord trail, then turn off to climb to the top of the hill. There are some beautiful panoramic views there.
Anse à l'Eau and Pointe de l'Islet in Tadoussac
Come and explore Tadoussac from top to bottom. Tadoussac is a small seaside resort with plenty of shops and restaurants, a few historic buildings and a marine mammal interpretation centre.This hike offers several viewpoints, including one where we were lucky enough to see a whale up close.
Maison du Parc régional des Grandes-Rivières du Lac Saint-Jean
This walk takes you along the trails of the Grandes Rivières du Lac Saint-Jean Regional Park. Discover the natural environment and the Mistassibi River, and learn about the local flora and fauna thanks to the information panels dotted along the trails.
Wendake (town of the Wendat First Nation) and the Saint-Charles River
A day of discovery of the Wendat Indigenous people, this hike crosses Wendake, where this community lives, and then takes you to Kabir Kouba Falls for a round trip on the same path that runs along the Saint-Charles River.
Jean Larose Falls and Mont Sainte-Anne
Hike through the forest in the lower part and discover the Jean Larose River and its waterfalls (in several stages), then in the upper part, Mont Sainte-Anne and its ski slopes.Hiking is not possible in winter or in freezing weather.This hike can be done in two stages, with the lower section featuring the waterfalls and the upper section featuring the mountain.

Hike through Old Quebec City to discover its many magnificent monuments (parliament, city hall, basilica-cathedral, castle, etc.), its citadel, which connects to a more natural but equally historic area: the Plains of Abraham.
The Space for Life and the Olympic Park in Montreal

The trail will then take you to Île du Colon. A porcupine was encountered on the trail: don't worry, this somewhat clumsy animal is not dangerous and will run away from you.For the less adventurous, turn back and take the trail in the opposite direction. For the more adventurous, take the path on the right that leads into the forest. This is the route we recommend. Keep your eyes peeled, as the trail is not well-trodden and you will need to follow the small markers on the trees.
Fascine Trail and Old Ragueneau Quay
More of a stroll than a hike, this short trail is particularly entertaining for children. A place to discover birdlife with a view of numerous small islands. At the right time of year, whales can be seen. The second part at the Old Quay takes you to see dinosaur statues, tributes to the strength and generosity of the pioneers, and the obelisk symbolising volunteerism.
Boisé Saint-Gilles, Baie-Comeau
A lovely, easy hike through the woods, discovering a beautiful lake and sumptuous views of the St. Lawrence River.
The waterfalls of Yoho Valley
Explore the wild Yoho Valley with its stunning waterfalls. The hike is not physically demanding and the route is easy to follow. With three campsites, you can stay overnight to enjoy the beautiful starry sky, far from light pollution, preferably during the new moon.
The Maligne Canyon
This is a superb walk in Jasper National Park (in Alberta, Canada), offering magnificent views along the Maligne River and across footbridges, where the fury of the waters in a high, narrow gorge is striking.
Moose Mountain Trail, Alberta
A lengthy uphill climb with sweeping landscape views, the Moose Mountain Trail is an amazing adventure just 45 minutes from Calgary that showcases the natural beauty of Bragg Creek. Trek up through the forest and into the mountainous terrain to reach the summit of Moose Mountain, where you can gaze out across the Rockies from atop the fire tower.
Canyon Creek Ice Caves Trail, Alberta
Featuring an interesting cave system and a beautifully scenic setting in Kananaskis country, the Canyon Creek Ice Caves Trail is a fun route to explore when visiting Bragg Creek. Although the first half of the hike isn’t anything spectacular, the final portion more than makes up for any dull moments hiking along a forest service road!
Burstall Pass from Mud Lake
After a route close to lakes, this hike offers the ascent of a pass surrounded by peaks over 3,000 metres high, in an undeniably "natural" atmosphere.
Be careful when crossing Burstall Creek, which requires a good sense of direction and should only be attempted in good conditions and with caution.
Bourgeau Lake and Harvey Pass
A superb hike that starts with a pleasant walk through the forest before reaching Bourgeau Lake. The landscape then becomes much more rocky and you pass two other lakes before reaching Harvey Pass, where there is a sweeping view.
Helen Lake and Dolomite Ridge
This hike begins with a pleasant climb to Helen Lake, through forest and then a beautiful "alpine pasture" setting. The terrain then becomes rockier as you traverse the ridges of Dolomite Ridge. This is a hike that can be adjusted in length to suit your preferences.
Wenkchemna Pass via the Ten Peaks Valley
An exceptional hike in the heart of Banff National Park, towards a high-altitude pass. You will find yourself in a spectacular high mountain setting, with superb views of the Ten Peaks, snow-capped peaks rising to over 3,000 metres. A hike that presents no difficulty other than its length and cumulative elevation gain.
