Mont Ti Basse

This hike runs along the foot of Mont Ti Basse and some of its trails. Mont Ti Basse is a ski resort. This route is, of course, best done when there is no snow. The hike begins with the discovery of a sandy plain, which is unexpected in the middle of a forest.

Description of the walk

Departure from the Mont Ti Basse ski resort, 20 Chemin du Mont Ti Basse. Park in the resort car park.

(S/E) With your back to the slopes, turn left onto Chemin Roland Munger and continue straight on Chemin de la Base de Plein Air.

(1) Take the path on the left that descends to the plain. Cross it, heading towards the bottom of the ski slopes. Climb up and join a cross-country trail.

(2) Leave this path, which goes straight ahead, head slightly to the right and continue climbing, leaving all the other slopes on your left. Reach the highest point at a gatehouse on a concrete pedestal.

(3) Turn left to descend the slope to the bottom and turn right towards the ski resort building.

(4) Head right and take the first trail to climb back up. Follow it as before, leaving all other trails on your left. Arrive at the summit of Mont Ti Basse.

(5) Descend via the slope that runs alongside the cable car and return to the car park (S/E).

Notes

The app's GPS will be useful for reaching point (2) from the plain.

It is impossible to go from point (2) to (4) without going back down, as the trees hide a high cliff.

Be careful on the descent from point (2), as the grass hides the uneven ground. There is another track after point (2), but be careful on the descent, which is rather tricky in places (exposed rocks). On the other hand, on the other side (4), the path is stony and the track also descends.
