Description of the walk

Parking is available at the Parc Nature car park at the end of Rue de Lille.

(S/E) Go to the back of the car park and take the path towards the park's reception chalet (toilets). Walk around the side of the building and continue straight ahead. Take the left-hand bend. The path runs alongside the river, offering views of Île de la Visitation opposite and several viewpoints.

(1) At the end of the path, turn right onto Rue du Pont, site of the Moulins du Sault-au-Récollet. After crossing the bridge, turn right and then immediately left.

(2) At the intersection just before the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge, turn right. The path runs along the river and offers several viewpoints, including one of the Rivière des Prairies power station dam. Continue, always taking the path furthest to the right to stay as close to the riverbank as possible. Continue to the end of the island.

(3) Turn right and, after about 100 metres, take the footbridge on the left. On the other side, turn left and follow the path to the dam.

(4) Please note: do not take the cycle path that continues along the path; the footpath is a few metres higher up on the right.

(5) Cross Parc Eusèbe-Ménard (toilets) and take Boulevard Gouin East, keeping to the right. Turn left onto Avenue des Laurentides.

(6) At the intersection with Rue Martial, you will see the Notre-Dame d'Haïti Church. Take Rue Martial and then immediately turn right onto Boulevard Saint-Vital. Pass in front of the church entrance. Then turn right onto Rue Monselet. Follow it to Boulevard Saint-Michel.

(7) Turn right onto Boulevard Saint-Michel. Then turn left onto Boulevard Gouin East and, after the last house, return to the Nature Park via the path on the right. At the next intersection, turn left and follow the path to the reception pavilion, then to the car park (S/E).

Notes

The car park is pay-and-display, but it is possible to park on Rue d'Iberville. Be sure to check the signs to make sure you are on the right side, as parking is highly regulated and often requires a parking permit. I therefore recommend using the pay-and-display car park.
There are toilets along the route (indicated in the description).
