Description of the walk

The trail starts at the back of the Alcoa sports centre car park on Avenue Michel Émond: car park to the left of the building.

(S/E) The start is at the sign showing the map of the different trails. Go straight ahead on the Sentier des Coccinelles. At the next intersection, leave the Sentier des Iris on your right and continue straight ahead on the Sentier des Coccinelles. After the bend, continue straight ahead for about 150 metres.

(1) At the crossroads, take thefirst path immediately on your left: the Sentier de l'Étang. The route makes a hairpin turn at this point.
Be careful, if you go too far into the intersection, the path you need to take will be behind you!
Follow this path, which will lead to a viewpoint overlooking the Étang des Mandres (also known as Lac des Canards). Continue down the path.

(2) At the intersection, leave the path leading to the pond on your left and continue along the path that runs alongside it. At the next intersection, leave the Sentier des Oiseaux on your right and turn left to reach the Sentier de la Grande Allée.

(3) Turn left and continue to the gate at the entrance to Terrain Laval.

(4) Follow the path on the right called "La glissade des enfants" (Children's Slide). At the intersection, turn left for a few metres, then left again and continue. When you reach a post, continue on the path opposite to reach the Halte Bec et Plumes (Beak and Feather Stop): panoramic view of the river.

(5) After enjoying the view, return to the post and take the path on the left. At the next intersection, take the Sentier du Versant-Sud on the left.

(6) At the next junction, turn left onto the Sentier de la Falaise. At the next junction, turn right onto the Sentier des Peupliers, then turn left to reach the Halte de la Pointe Saint-Gilles: you will have a magnificent view from a footbridge.

(7) Turn back to the crossroads and go straight ahead. Then turn left onto Sentier sur le Flanc and continue, leaving Sentier de la Forêt Noire on your right. At the next intersection, turn left onto Sentier des Ecureuils. Descend to the left towards Halte des Coquillages.

(8) Halte des Coquillages (option to go down to the beach). Go back up in the opposite direction, turn right onto the Sentier des Ecureuils. Then turn left onto the Sentier des Champignons. At the crossroads, go straight ahead to reach the Sentier de la Grande Allée crossroads.

(9) Turn left, then right onto Sentier des Papillons, which leads straight back to the car park. Once at the edge of the woods, turn right to reach them (S/E).
