The trail starts at the car park located at the intersection of Bossé and Amédée streets in Baie-Comeau. This car park is free of charge.
(S/E) Take the path that leads to the footbridge over the Amédée River waterfall. Cross the footbridge and continue for a few dozen metres.
(1) Followthe path on the right, called Sentier des Embruns. It runs alongside the river and offers several views of its rapids.
(2) Leave the path on your left, which you will take later, and continue straight ahead to admire the confluence of the river and the river.
(3) Continue along this path, which now runs alongside the St. Lawrence River, until you reach Île du Colon.
(4) Turn around and retrace your steps along the path.
(3) Pass the confluence again and follow the trail back to the fork you passed on the way there.
(2) Take the path on the right and head into the forest. Continue until you reach a clearing.
(5) Turn right towards the back of the clearing and take the path: using the app's GPS is recommended, if not essential. Continue until you reach a flat, rocky area overlooking the forest you have just walked through.
(6) Then turn back and return to the clearing.
(5) Cross the clearing again and take the path straight ahead.
(7) Cross two muddy patches that have invaded the path (even in summer). Go around the first one on the left a few metres before it. Once you are back on the path after about 20 metres, go around the second one, also on the left. Back on the path, continue until you reach a sandy, wider lane.
(8) Follow it to the left to return to the footbridge at the start and find the car park (S/E).
Head to the right: at the end of the car park, a floating jetty extends out over the river. This spot at the water's edge is also a fishing spot.
