Les Escoumins from Pointe de le Croix to Petite Anse du Cran Noir

The departure point is located in the Pointe de la Croix car park, Rue de la Croix, Les Escoumins.

(S/E) Go to the back of the car park and take the path that leads to Pointe de la Croix.

(1) Then retrace your steps back to the car park.

(S/E) Exit the car park by turning left. Turn left onto Rue de la Croix and continue to the intersection with Rue Saint-Marcellin Est. Turn left. At the next intersection, turn left again (Route 138) and continue for about 50 metres.

(2) Take the footpath and walk along Baie des Escoumins. Follow this path, which branches off from the road, to reach a footbridge.

(3) Take the footbridge over the Rivière des Escoumins. Continue to the Poissonnerie restaurant.

(4) Immediately after, turn left onto the Baleines cycle path, which enters the forest. You will arrive at a car park and a road.

(5) At the intersection, turn left onto Ferry Ramp and continue to the river.

(6) After observing the river and any whales, retrace your steps.

(5) Go straight ahead and walk up Rue du Quai. Turn left onto Rue de la Réserve and, immediately after the building, enter the small park on the left.

(7) At the end of this park, there is a viewpoint overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Then, join Rue de la Réserve as it curves to the right and continue for about 100 metres.

(8) At the intersection, take the hairpin turn to the left onto Rue de l'Anse à Jos. Continue for about 150 metres and turn right to reach Petite Anse du Cran Noir.

(9) After exploring this cove, retrace your steps to the hairpin bend intersection.

(8) Turn right onto Rue de la Réserve. Pass Rue du Quai, Rue Innu and Rue des Oblats on your right, then leave Rue de la Réserve and turn right onto Rue Roussel until you reach the end at the crossroads (stop sign).

(10) Turn right and go down the ramp on the right or the stairs to reach Rue Saint-Marcellin Ouest. At the end of this street, in the left-hand bend, cross the car park and take the small alleyway to reach the footbridge you took on the way there.

(3) Cross it and walk along the bay again to return to the other side. Turn right onto Rue Saint-Marcellin Est and then right again onto Rue de la Croix until you reach the car park (S/E).

Toilets are located at point (5).

The departure car park is small, but there is another one at Ferry Ramp (between point (5) and the boarding dock).
