A hike along the Donon fortified positions trail. From September 1914, the Vosges front stabilised on the ridges and the Donon became a defensive position of prime importance. In 1915, the Germans embarked on a colossal construction project.

An easy hike to Champ du Feu, the highest peak in the Bas-Rhin at 1,099 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Pass by the tower, yurts and stunning viewpoints over Climont and then the Val de Villé.

Continue exploring the Roche Solaire sculpture trail, around and on the Kohlberg, at the foot of the Donon. On this route, you’ll discover works by artists from Germany, England, France and Ukraine. Stunning panoramic views of the Bruche Valley and the Alsace plain. It is entirely possible to complete both circular routes in a single day; to do so, the waypoint (7) from thefirst section becomes the waypoint (1) for this new route, and you simply need to follow the new stages.

Here is an alternative route along the Roche Solaire sculpture trail. This section of the route takes in nine sculptures from 2010 and two from the most recent symposium in 2023. In the middle of the forest, you will see works created by artists from a variety of backgrounds, including France, Denmark, Japan and Poland.

An easy walk through vineyards and dry grasslands, passing by the Puits d'Amour fountain and the Laegerbrunnen fountain. Numerous viewpoints over the Alsace plain and the Black Forest enhance this walk.

This hike follows part of the Sentier des Passeurs trail. It offers beautiful views of Haute Loge and the Hautes Chaumes, as well as picturesque surroundings around Lake Maix. This route is not difficult, except for its length.

A short, easy hike passing through places with evocative names: Goldbrunnen (golden fountain), Carrières d'Or (golden quarries) and Purpurkopf, an ancient Celtic and Roman site.

Set off to explore the Cascade de la Crache waterfall, the Rocher de la Hazelle rock with its view over the Plaine valley, and the Dolmen de la Hazelle dolmen above the village of Raon-sur-Plaine.

An easy walk to the hamlet of Stampoumont through a beautiful forest, then beautiful views of the pastures, the Donon and the Climont, not to mention the pretty chapel of Stampoumont with its minimalist stained glass windows. A calm and peaceful walk.

The Fontenelle National War Memorial is a major site commemorating the Vosges Front during the First World War. This route passes through hamlets that no longer exist, of which only a sign remains today to indicate their former existence.

Encounter the Mennonites in the Salm region. This community originated from Anabaptists who fled the Zurich region of Switzerland where they were persecuted. Many of them emigrated to the United States and created the Amish movement. Information panels are located along the route.

Here is a walking route between Senones and Moyenmoutier, offering beautiful views of both towns and the Rabodeau Valley. Remains from the First World War can be seen towards the end of the route.

The Marbrière viewpoint offers a spectacular view of the Bruche valley and the Hersbach quarry. This walk takes place entirely in the forest and mainly on wide paths.

Walk through the forest above Lutzelhouse. This circular route follows part of the in situ sculpture route, where you will see six works.

A circular walk to the Bischenberg Convent, returning via the vineyards to the Mont National memorial overlooking the town of Obernai. Numerous views over the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and the villages at the foot of the hills.

There is also a Mont Saint-Michel in Alsace, located in Saint-Jean-Saverne. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding villages and is dotted with archaeological remains. The Saint-Michel Chapel stands on a promontory near the Rond des Sorcières, above the Grotte des Sorcières. This easy route takes you past the Schnackeplatz (Snail Square), a lay-by situated just above the LGV Est high-speed rail tunnel, where you might be lucky enough to see a TGV hurtling through it (around 15 minutes after it leaves Strasbourg). At Warthenberg Castle, perched on the Rocher Daubenschlag, you can marvel at a heart-shaped grove in the middle of the fields. From the Rocher des Dames, there is a bird’s-eye view of the A4 motorway at the Col de Saverne.

The Pfaffenlapp and Breitberg rocks are two must-see sights in the area, each offering a beautiful view of the Bruche Valley. This route has the advantage of being on high ground and is therefore relatively easy.

Let's follow the route that prisoners took in all weathers from Rothau station to the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp. They were not equipped with hiking boots or sticks to climb this mountain.

The Kemberg massif offers numerous vantage points: Roche Saint-Martin, Kiosque, Anozel and Enclume; add to these the paragliding launch sites at Col du Kiosque and Kemberg. You will enjoy the panoramic views over Saint-Dié, the Meurthe valley, and the Ormont and Bure massifs.
