Description of the walk

Park in the large car park opposite the Chalet de la Serva.

(S/E) Enter the forest and head left (southeast) onto the Chemin de la Tour, marked with red-white-red rectangles. Exit the forest, turn left and head towards the ski lift lines.

(1) Ignore the path back to the left. Continue straight ahead on the plateau, heading south-east, until you reach the Champ du Feu tower.

(2) Cross the D214 with caution and head right to reach the start of a trail in the forest.

(3) Turn left onto the path marked Croix Bleue, which descends slightly. Turn right onto this path and descend more steeply. Cross a path marked Chevalet Rouge and continue descending. Pass under a ski lift and arrive above the Kaelberhütte farm.

(4) Descend to the left and pass in front of the farm.

(5) Shortly after, ignore a road on the left, continue for about 30 m, and turn right. Walk along a pasture on your right.

(6) At a fork (yurts on the right), take the path through the woods on the left. You will reach the paragliding launch site. Continue along this path marked "Chevalet Jaune", passing a second launch site and the viewpoint over the Val de Villé. Continue to the next junction.

(7) Head left onto the unmarked track, which curves sharply to the left. Join a path marked Croix Bleue and follow it to the left to return to the Kaelberhütte farm.

(5) Just before the farm, turn right. Follow a small road and pass some houses.

(8) When the road turns right, take a track on the left that climbs uphill, marked with a blue triangle, overlooking the Chaume des Veaux (viewpoint over the Ungersberg).

(9) At the intersection, turn left and follow the blue signpost. Shortly afterwards, cross a forest road and continue uphill opposite, following the same signpost. Continue straight ahead (north-west) and ignore all the paths on either side.

(10) At the edge of the forest, cross the D214 carefully and follow the red-white-red signs opposite. Pass under the ski lift line and you will reach the intersection you started at.

(1) Take the path on the right and return to the car park (S/E).

A very pleasant and varied hike. The elevation gain was very easy to manage as it was spread out over several stages. I highly recommend it.
