(S/E) Take the Sentier des Fortins.
(1) Turn right and you will soon see the first blockhouse, which you cross for a few metres. At the exit, continue to the right and after about 600 m, you will reach a second blockhouse, which is a little longer to cross.
Continue along the path, pass the Haute Abraye shelter and take the path opposite that runs alongside the road and leads to a crossroads. Cross the crossroads to reach a battery of guns on gun carriages and continue to the Étoile 1 crossroads.
(2) Continue straight ahead and immediately turn right onto the forest road.
(3) Keep right and at the next intersection, take the road uphill to the left. At the clearing, the trail continues uphill to the left and winds between small blockhouses to emerge at a machine gun emplacement crossed by a narrow 60-metre tunnel. Further on, take a sharp left turn and pass two casemates on the hillside.
(4) Continue to the right for about 800 m.
(5) Turn left at an acute angle.
(6) Leave the track to the left through the heath and follow two large howitzer batteries to reach the Étoile 2 crossroads.
(7) Take the path opposite and slightly to the left that descends into the forest.
(8) Go up the road to the left.
(9) Turn right twice to follow the battery of cannons seen at the start of the route. The gun ports are clearly visible. Continue for a few metres.
(10) Head right and follow a path through the woods that leads to a track. Follow this track to the left, where you will find an artillery battery and a huge casemate reserved for the headquarters.
(11) At the crossroads, turn right to reach the Donon National Necropolis.
(12) Enjoy the spectacular view of the Donon. Walk about 200 metres.
(13) Turn left onto the Sentier Jean Maegey.
(1) As soon as you enter the forest, turn right to reach the car park on the Route Forestière de Prayé (S/E).
