This is an easy but rather long walk, allowing you to discover the banks of the Saône and the Château de Ray-sur-Saône.

Rupt-sur-Saône is a small picturesque village in the Saône valley, at the foot of three hills, close to a salt road and a Roman road The nearby forest is home to the ghosts of the medieval loves of the Crusader Jean de Rupt, while the Saône offers the pleasures of fishing and boat trips.

Between dirt tracks, cattle tracks and stone bridges spanning the Salon, you will enjoy a pleasant walk discovering remarkable architectural heritage (churches, fountains, calvaries, etc.).

The municipality of Velleclaire is divided into two parts by the D474 road: an upper section on the Route de Vantoux and a lower section on the other side, featuring a small wooded area. It is this lower part that you will explore. This small village of 105 inhabitants is home to a charming 19th-century chapel. The settlement consists mainly of farmhouses, some of which have beautiful cellar entrances and very interesting architectural features.

Bucey-les-Gy is a “Petite Cité Comtoise de Caractère” nestled in the Morthe valley, within the triangle formed by the towns of Gray, Vesoul and Besançon. Ancient and Merovingian graves attest to a very long-standing presence in Bucey-les-Gy. Until 1091, the village belonged to the Counts of Burgundy, before being ceded to the Archbishops of Besançon. The hamlet of Saint-Maurice, which you will pass through on your walk, was largely destroyed in 1944 in retaliation for acts of resistance.

Argillières is a small village steeped in legend... Its castle is said to have been home in the 18th century to the famous bandit Mandrin, a hero to the people but a thief whom the authorities were determined to bring down at any cost. Concealed by a high wall, this castle, built in the 17th and 18th centuries, is now mainly occupied during the summer months.

The scenic route through the Saône Valley in Recologne-les-Rioz is a circular route that starts on Rue de l’Église and returns to its starting point. Discover Recologne’s religious heritage along the Way of St James pilgrimage route, as well as its cultural heritage via Château de Ray (10 centuries of history).

A very pretty wooded route where you can recharge your batteries, with several beautiful viewpoints. Best done in sunny weather to make the most of the views.

This hike is also known as the Cross and Côte-Chat hike. From the cross, there is a panoramic view of the Saône plain From Côte-Chat, there is a view of the hills in the south of the department, the Doubs and perhaps Mont Blanc.

A hike to discover Gray, its surroundings and the Saône river via paths accessible on foot and by bike (except for a staircase at the end of the route, which can be easily bypassed). A pleasant little hike in the hills above Montigny-lès-Vesoul. The route alternates between dirt tracks, gravel paths and a few tarmac sections. The trail crosses fields and small woods, offering pretty views of the surrounding villages. It passes close to Poncey and Chemilly, making for a peaceful and accessible walk. However, there is a slight inconvenience at the end of the route: the trail runs alongside a composting platform. Depending on the day, the wind and the temperature, unpleasant odours may disturb your walk for about 200 metres.

The Colombine river has its source in Charcenne at the foot of the Leffond Chapel. Charcenne is a land of cheese and wine. A cheese dairy and nurseries provide many jobs in the area.

Come and discover the villages of Andelarre, Baignes and Mont-le-Vernois, small rural communities in Haute-Saône, along this pretty green route. Discover the site of the old Baignes forges along the route.

An easy walk around the village of Crésancey, leading along the Tenise and then through valleys and woods, to discover the churches and wash houses of Noiron, Arsans and then Champtonnay, before returning to Crésancey through the fields. The villages you pass through are surrounded by magnificent natural landscapes such as beech woods, green hills, farmland and winding rivers.

It’s well worth venturing deep into the woods to discover the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Cherlieu.

A very pleasant walk to discover the Tounolle, a small, wild river in the forest.

This circular route starts in Boulot, at the Au Zinc bar-restaurant. Enjoy your walk with family or friends, passing by Boulot Castle, the Golot Fountain and the covered wash house in Boulot, which is decorated during festivals.

This route will allow you to discover the countryside and woods of the villages of Geneuille and Cussey-sur-l'Ognon. The route is not difficult and follows well-marked paths and forest roads.

Welcome to Valay, a pretty village in Haute-Saône, surrounded by countryside and forests.Set off to explore its peaceful setting, typical of rural villages in the region, thanks to the "Entre Forges et Forêts" trail and its three loops:- The Tacot loop to the east of the village will take you close to the fortified castle, then into the forest, following the old railway line for 7 km.- You can extend your walk with the Sainte-Cécile loop, which will take you 6 km to the ruins of an old abbey and the commune of La Résie-Saint-Martin.- Finally, the La Fresse loop will take you to discover the village's iconic sites, while crossing a wooded section on a 4.8 km route.

Fayl-Billot is a village of 1,300 inhabitants located in the Haute-Marne department. It is best known as the capital of basketry. There are many artisans practising this craft in the village. At the end of this walk, do not hesitate to take home a souvenir. This walk takes in the village’s main tourist and cultural attractions, such as the National School of Osier Cultivation and Basketry, Notre-Dame Church, as well as all the village’s wash houses and fountains.

From Bonnay church, you will climb up to this beautiful line of cornices overlooking the Ognon valley to reach the Fort de la Dame Blanche viewpoint over the Vosges, following in the footsteps of the disturbing woman who haunts these places after dark. Then, from the ancient fortifications, you will descend via a wild path towards the valley and its villages with their beautiful fountains, returning to Bonnay and its castle via the old Tacot road.

From the town hall in Vieilley and its beautiful wash house fountain, you will climb towards the line of ledges overlooking the Ognon valley to reach the Fort de la Dame Blanche viewpoint over the Vosges, hopefully without encountering that unsettling woman who haunts these places after dark. Then, from the old fortifications, you’ll descend via a wild path towards the valley.
