Black markings

(S/E) Join the departmental road and turn left towards Rioz. Continue along the first small path on the right towards the school complex, which you should go round on the left.
Walk past the building to rejoin the departmental road, turn left and walk for about 500 m until you reach thesecond path on the left.

(1) Leave the departmental road and take this track on the left. Continue straight on, climbing through the forest for 1.4 km.

(2) At the junction, turn right and stay on the ridge (do not follow the mountain bike trail).
Walk for 300 m.

(3) Turn left and head downhill to join the mountain bike trail.

(4) Turn right, ignore a path branching off to the right, and look for a path branching off to the left about a hundred metres further on.

(5) Turn left and follow the signposts for the “Chemin du Rail”. Leave the forest, then follow the path that runs alongside the woodland.

(6) First turn right then left, cross the county road and follow the path almost directly opposite. Join the old railway line path (X-shaped junction).

(7) Turn left onto “le Chemin du Tacot” and follow it for 1.9 km to reach the old station.
Near Trésilley, cross the first road and reach the second at a place called La Crau. Signposts explain the history of the railway line.

(8) Turn left onto Rue de la Gare and head towards the Town Hall square (S/E).

The black markings are hard to see, so you can’t find your way without the app – what a shame!

An easy and pleasant walk, mainly through the woods, returning along the old railway line with interesting information boards.

A lovely walk, mainly through the forest, along an easy path, but the signposting is often missing… no black markings as indicated… we found our way using the maps on our mobiles and the mountain bike signposting. Otherwise, an easy and enjoyable walk.

Hello, at marker 2 there were no signs telling us to turn right – there were just some crosses
We carried on straight ahead and had no trouble finding the route again
I think the signposting needs reviewing at this point.
Otherwise, it was a pleasant route with no difficulties.
