Parking in front of the town hall in Rupt-sur-Saône.
(S/E) Start the route by going up Rue de la Garenne towards the north-west to reach the top of the village.
(1) Depending on the estate's opening hours (see Practical Information), you can enter the courtyard and walk up the driveway to a lovely viewpoint near the castle keep.
Then turn back to the entrance to continue the route.
(1) Take the road in front of you, slightly to the left, and continue walking until you reach a grassy path on your right. Continue along this path until you reach the village cemetery.
(2) Go downhill on your left and go around the church on the left (stone path). This will bring you back to the main road, which you will take on your left (Rue du Moulin). Go straight ahead at the next crossroads.
(3) Almost at the edge of the village, turn right onto the road that climbs up to Chemin du Couvent des Minimes. Continue along this path, ignoring the paths branching off to the left and right, heading east then north-east. You will arrive at the Rupt-Sur-Saône road (D23).
(4) Take this road to the right for about 100 metres.
Then take a small path on your left into the forest, which will lead you to a calvary. Descend a few steps back onto the Rupt road. Take the road on the right and walk to Saint-Albin.
(5) Follow the first road on your left, then take the next road on the left (Rue de la Prairie). This road will take you to the Saint-Albin canal tunnel.
(6) Turn right and walk along the tunnel via the small paths and various access points.
(7) Pass by a lock (Noah's Ark!! Quite a few animals: chickens, ducks, donkeys). Continue straight ahead along the Saône to the Pont de Chantes bridge.
(8) Turn right just after the bridge and head towards the village of Rupt-sur-Saône (S/E).
