(S) Car park at the entrance to the village of Fondremand coming from Maizières.
(1) Turn your back on the village and take a wide path parallel to the D33 (formerly a railway line) which runs alongside the Romaine river for almost 1 km.
(2) After the bridge over the Romaine, climb up a grassy path on the right through a wasteland and then enter the forest, which is divided by a long stone wall. Continue for 250 metres and then follow the path that turns right and runs along the hillside for 300 metres.
(3) When the path leads to a forest clearing, go up to the left (blue ring markings). Continue straight ahead at the next three crossroads to reach a forest clearing.
(4) Take the gravel forest road opposite for 800 metres.
(5) Descend to the right along the stony road for 1.3 km (follow the blue rings) until you reach the village of Fondremand.
Go down Rue du Quart on the left, then turn left onto Rue du Château. After the large Château Gaillard property, turn left onto the lane that runs alongside the old ramparts and moats.
(6) Pass by the Romanesque church and go down the steps, then continue left along Rue du Château. Go around Place du Haut.
Return via Grande Rue, turning right until you reach Place du Bas (fountain). Walk around the Romaine spring, pass in front of the wash house and turn left onto the path that runs alongside the canal. Cross the mill footbridge and continue along Rue du Moulin to rejoin Grande Rue, turning right until you reach the car park.
